When it "smokes" do you have the engine brake on?
-
it dosent matter it will smoke with it on or off

Check inlet value stem seals or guides.
It may be sucking oil in to intake when boost pressure drops of and you get a vacuum effect in the intake.
Under boost conditions the oil is kept out by the pressure in the intake.
Smoke should be white in color if this is the issue. -
Check the CAC tested and first put the plug in the right side and pressurize the whole system, if you have a valve guide problem, it will have a lot of blow-by. Then you pull the covers and you can see which ones are leaking, the exhaust ones will have a pile of carbon and the intakes a cigarette will tell you which ones not that it really maters if it is excessive the head has to come off to repair them.
I would also take a bar and listen in the exhaust manifold for broken pieces, with the engine at 800 RPM -
mine smoked like that when the seal in the back of the turbo was bad new turbo no smoke

thanks for all your help
