Not sure if this has been asked before but I couldn't find it in the forum.
My boyfriend has just gotten his CDL class A and is having a difficult time trying to get hired by any company. Everybody wants to hire a trucker with experience, but how do you get experience if nobody hires you?
How do you guys manage to get around that?
Thanks!

Did he go to a school?

He has to get hired on by a training company like central refrigerated, schneider national, swift, etc and get some or it will be a difficult time trying to find someone willing to train a newbie. Did he go to a school to get the cdl?
-
He did go to school and used to drive trucks back in his country, but that doesn't count here obviously. He has already driven on the road with someone and he wants to do this, is just hard to get around the loop.

Best way to get info on here is to do a search. Lots of info on companies hiring off the left coast of FL. Search terms like "companies hiring Florida students", check the trucking jobs section on here as well. It is tied in to many job listing services and always has jobs listed in Florida for new drivers.

Move up 200 miles north he will find a job.More likely because he in south Florida and most companies as far I know wouldn't take anyone south of Tampa.Try WSE or CCC Transportation that have terminals in Florida.

Here's a list of comanies that have hired out of that area. He'd have to call to see if they still are though. Company requirements change so it's best to call and ask.
