fortunately this part of trucking is over
now 18.75m long combination
( i dont know when they change it from 18 to 18.35 but to 18.75 is from 1994 if i remember good)
and maximum distance from front wall of trucks bodywork to rear wall of trailer bodywork is 15.65m
so there is no need for short cabs with topsleeper
cabovers

Fine looking truck. There's a hint of MAN Diesel in the overall designLast edited: Dec 11, 2011

I'm not sure this truck ready for EU and NA markets. As example from Brasilia. They made Mercedes Axor. It is truck on Actros chassis but with Atego cabin becouse the use L6 engine. Early trucks were moved to Germany and cab was reinforced, later they introduced it in Germany and now Axor cab is made in Turkey.
Emission difference Euro vs EPA are really easy to solve, like it is easy to swap ECE to DOT headlamps, but cab design is the different thing. -
Ill be interested to see when the Aero Star reaches us in South Africa.
The predecessor 9800 was popular because everything was simple and "cheap".
With out that advantage not so sure they will have any advantage. -
9800 cab is not safe enought. As I can see road accidents in Russia European cabover is safe. 9800 - not, lika Freightliner FLA too. Old US cabovers are dangerouse for drivers. European cab is too heavy, becouse it is made of steel.

If this cab is based on MAN F2000 - it may be good, if on TGA/TGX - better
