Any chance the cam is off a tooth? Did the gear mark line up perfectly with the arrow on the housing? Sounds like retarded timing.

The cam won't cause any issues under full load acceleration at any RPM. If the engine has a load against it it will rev to max RPM without breaking up. You have a fuel problem somewhere or a bad injector

ok thanks kurt i just jacked the timing till i got the check eng light didn't help revs quicker still breaks up im with you on the bad injector fuel line's and tranfer pump are new and running it from a bucket didn't change things ether so i guess it's back to finding the junk injector again kinda sounds like a fuel knock when cold also i did forget to post that kinda like a detroit sound

You really should do a Cylinder cut out test before you go any further. Seeing its missing in neutral at 2000RPM you should be able to pin it down to a Cylinder in a few minutes.

If its doing it that bad but its not a particular cylinder then its more likely fuel pressure across the board.

Did you test Fuel pressure After the secondary filter filer before the head? test at Idle and all the way through to when it misses.

fuel pressure was tested on the filter houseing on the block before the head with the old transfer pump and another used one i tryed so went and got a new pump and same thing line from houseing to head is new and the return on the back of the head is new and all the draw line from tank are new check valve new

You might have a cut injector oring. You really should hook up a clear hose in the supply and return lines. This will tell you if you are sucking air or "making" air on the return side. If you have a cut oring the compression will force the fuel away from the cylinder.
