That and the fact that "DAC" (Hirerite) does not keep someones motor vehicle record. When "DAC" is queried for a MVR they send an electronic request to the state for the information.

Please, excuse me and allow me to amend my earlier statements.
Although my previous statements were somewhat flawed, it is still a good idea to obtain your information where and when it is availabe. It could be, that the companies have a minimum OTR experience. If that is the case, look for a company with a student program. -
Andy, you are essentially correct. However, when there are errors or misimformation, you can request that it be removed.

CSA points are given to you by law enforcement or DOT. They are given to you as a result of a ticket or inspection. You can fight your tickets in court or not. If you go to court and are found guilty it is a matter of legal record and it's on your "file" whether you agree with it or not. DAC is "opinion" or "how we see it" from an employer and not a very reliable source of history and/or safety. CSA is "fact" or a legal record from local, state, or federal agencies. You can petition all you want, CSA points are something you are stuck with.

Pg 193-194 CSA Handbook.
Data challenges -
Hoghead I suggest you visit your local DMV office and get a printout. If the State can go back 10 years get that one. It'll tell you if you have any tickets and their status. In Calif it costs $5 for a 5 or 10 year printout. So you may have to pay for the printout, but its worth it to know whats on your CDL.

You're confusing CSA points and PSP reports. Cite exactly your correction for me. If I'm I wrong I accept that and will chalk it up to learning something new. But I'm pretty sure I'm right on this. What handbook are you looking at that has so many pages?

J J Keller - CSA Handbook: A Complete Guide for CMV Drivers
ISBN: 978-1-60287-835-8
This is available at most truck stops and online. Retail is about $8.
Lots of good info. I got it because I was tired of all the hearsay info on the radio and across the counter at the watering hole. -
Data Q challenge goes to the officer who did the inspection. If he/she maintains the original finding is correct then it stands.
