Which is exactly why I'm getting a hotel...not to mention by the time I got finished messing with the safety lane and whatnot, it would be 4am! I'm going to stay at the Super 8 right on Military, so I'll be right down the road.

The only reason why I got the repower is because I started bugging them about it yesterday. If I hadn't, I'd be on my way to San Antonio right now. When I called my dm this morning about it, he was like "what?! Why do you need a repower?!" I told him that it made absolutely no sense to send me to San Antonio so that I can deadhead back to Dallas...which is what would've happened. Not to mention, I'm tired of babysitting this drivers truck and personal belongings.

I'm supposed to be going for Christmas. The DM told me that he doesn't know if he can get me home now. I told him that if he didn't get me home for Christmas, only God would be able to save him from the wrath of my wife. He then told me that I might have to come back to Dallas and fly home. I don't think so...

They must have been designed by the same people who designed couches in pilot lounges. I've spent many nights on them and not one of those nights was "restful", though they did count as the 10-hour "rest" required by federal aviation regulations.

Been there. Done that. Got the skid marks to prove it.

Well there is a silver cloud in every lining...er...whatever.
Last drop, had to back down an ally way about 250 feet in the dark, then into an angle door.
Made my student do it. Surprise! He did great. He may be ready for prime time after all.
Headed to the Ontario TA. I've never seen the place so packed. No parking available at either site. Security was rousting drivers parked at curbs and sending them on their way.
Long story short, I grumbled all the way to Hesparia and got a spot right up front. From the roving trucks, I might have gotten the last one.
Headed over to the Outpost Cafe for breakfast and had a great Huevos Rancheros. Mui Bien!
I'd forgotten what a great job they do there. It must be the Pilot next door that throws me off.
So we're sitting here on top the mountain, waiting for our load in Vernon to be ready, then off to the Punic wars once again.

That would have been the cashier, whom when I paid, I considered leaving her my T/A points so she could have a shower.

So, got in and out of Hunts Point today no problems. That construction on the 95 to 87 exchange is incredible! It was so tight I had birthing flashbacks! (sorry mom)
Now it's a Newark p/u and a Winchester VA drop six hours later. Gonna be interesting.

Well I got to the yard this morning, and it was like safety was waiting at the gate for me. My punishment for hitting Bambi and letting CRST take my front end off...3 videos and an extended road test:biggrin_25510: They tried to put me on Fleet 50, but couldn't...something to do with Emulsified taking up all of their time these days:biggrin_25517:

Talked to Kenworth, and now my truck won't be ready until Tuesday, so Stevens is going to give me a loaner truck to use until I go home next week. When I get off of home time, they are going to send me up to N.J to recover my truck...at least that's the plan as of now.

yep, not quite what I expected, but worse... you help them out and recover a truck, and now the DM does NOT want to get you home for christmas? The truck is in NJ, and he is saying there is no freight from NJ to Florida? Push hard Flight, and remember you always have the option of driving home at your expense. Just ask them where they would like the trailer dropped, or drag an empty home.

That looks real bad for the DM when one of us does that to get home. And make sure Archie knows why you are deadheading home.

Well, let's see. You hit a deer and another idiot hits your parked truck while you're sleeping and you get an extended road test. Something stinks in that fish pond, dude...

It was funny because the red shirt tried to intimidate me with it. I told him that a 45 minute trip was nothing since I drive 11 hours a day. He said "Yeah, but not in Dallas traffic you don't." I said: "You're right. I have driven in Houston, L.A, NYC, and D.C traffic, but I'm sure that's nothing like Dallas traffic." He just looked at me dumbfounded.

I agree wholeheartedly that it's crappy, but I'll play their games as long as they continue play mine. Harold did try to mess with me. Our conversation:

Harold: "You know, if you hadn't parked there, this would have never happened."
Me: "Yes, and if I had never taken that repower to help the company out, I would have never parked there."
    Harold: "..."

I agree, how do the the road test masters suppose you could avoid either incident????? You just got an intimidation slap, really pointless in my view.
