Hope it's not from grinding gears! That shift knob can vibrate something awful until you learn to float-em. In case you didn't know that, there should be no vibrations at all on the shift knob... smooth as silk, right?

I learned to drive in a '77 KW cabover and a '73 KW w900. Both had no power steering pulling a cattle pot and learning to back up to a chute on sale day. You learn pretty quick when everyone is watching. O' yeah learned to change tires and fix flats at the same time. I got callouses and my knuckles were red at first from him slapping them a couple of times with a stick when I grinded gears. I went to Poor Boy's school of truck driving, it was a one on one lesson.

    Blisters ????

I won't go into detail. But I've been complemented on how soft my hands are.

Are you sure you're driving a truck?

Yeah. And break your wrist on it if you don't get one of Washington State's famous tickets for it.

I figured it wouldn't take long for the "up hill both ways" stories to start.

As I said above, I reacted to the chemicals in the steering wheel itself. It had nothing to do with being a sissy. Why can't some of you just answer the question without insulting new people? Do you really wonder why you don't get respect from them?
