Rodney King -- "Can't we all just get along?"
Some of you maybe to young to remember Rodney.
-
I remember Rodney!!! Dangerfield anyway lol

To be very honest, I included them out of anger from being attacked. They are after all, a "driver mill". However, they seem to be one of the better ones, according to a few friends that have gone with them and are currently still with them. So, my overall logic? "If they want to bash a company that I was told by friends to be a decent place to work, then hell, I'll include them in the list as well. Why not, they seem to be putting them on the bottom of the list anyway." There you go, my logic may not be logical to some but that just how my mind is/was working in this case.

Spell check from a smart phone can be difficult sometimes, but then again, that may be something you know nothing about considering you and your co-prime driver buddies are running for .20 to a wopping .30 cpm!
Turned down by Prime!!!

I've worked for 3 companies since I started, the first - a local 4 truck outfit, the second - a local OTR flatbed company consistsing of 6 trucks, and an O/O with 3 trucks. Did I apply to Prime? Yeah sure...while I was STILL in school. Did they offer employment? Don't they offer employment to every single app that comes through their corporate office? See, the peice of my story that you guys are not hearing is that after graduating on a Friday, I started for a local company on the following Monday...2 whole days later. BTW - the school I attended had only 8 people in each class, with a total head count of 24 for the entire course. Obviously a small school outfit as well. After landing my second job with another local company, my instructor - turned great friend since we lived 3 miles apart, asked me to come back to the school once a week to teach a 30 min "finding employment" course. Which is why I initially offered my help here! My background as "National VP of Technical Engineering" gave me great insite into what employers where looking for and why. Part of my job was to interview talented people and hire those that impressed ME. So, like I was saying, I DO have the background to tell you what an employer is looking for during the first 1 minute of meeting you, what they are looking for during the interview, why they look for those things, and how they make informed decisions in the hiring process. (His pants are not ironed to the pleat, this is a high 5 figure position! He is obviously to lazy, lacks in attention to detail, is rushing into something he may not take seriously...etc, etc,... Nope, next app please)
I recommended to the OP to look elsewhere because I know from experiance that one doesn't need to settle for the 1st job that is offered. I know from those that I have taught very specific and strategic techniques, that better ops are out there if you know how to find them. I know from experience, that as a new driver options are very limited in who you work for, but I also know from that same experience how to find exactly what YOU are looking for. BTW - I now own my truck and run under my own authority. You don't really think that I'd spend years and years at the top of corporate America and come out here just to make money for someone else do you??? I know how to run a large business...running a single truck business seemed only natural since I have no plans of returning to my former career.
I have no intention of reading any of the replies to this post, and will only move the email notifications of a reply to my spam box...I don't want to be a "troll" you know. And to the person that said this sight has not become a joke, please, IM me with just one thread that wasn't eventually high-jack, or pounded by a "real troll", or at the very least - did not become a platform from which to argue with one another to the point of being "closed". Show one!
To the OP: I had absolutely no intention of insulting you to begin with. My intention was not to bash prime...to begin with. My sole purpose was to offer advise from what I have seen/heard. To you, my offer still stands. If you find that Prime is in fact what *I* have made them out to be then I would be more then glad to offer pointers about HOW to look, WHY to look, where to look, when to look, etc. etc. That's the least I can do for the unintended high-jacking of your thread. For what it's worth...best of luck!

You don't have a freakin' clue about Prime - you've never even walked through the door. According to your info line, you've been in trucking for 3 years, and now you're a "National VP of Technical Engineering?" I can smell the Bravo Sierra all the way through the internet.DenaliDad and harleysmith64 Thank this.

Yeah. PLEASE.

Kinda takes some of the joy out of truckinpa's original post in which he sounded happy. But you know what? There are always people who can't find happiness in their lives and don't want anybody else to be happy, either. This guy is one of them--and he will see what we say as a "personal attack." Bleh.
truckinpa16 Thanks this. -
Dude, every word of each post you wrote here sounded exactly like an insult to the OP's happiness AND like you were intentionally bashing Prime. You sound like an arrogant person wanting to push your own negativity on everyone else for some reason, instead of just acknowledging what the OP was saying.
And because you won't read this, you will not get the view from another poster. Pity.
Not.

Please don't tell payroll that they are overpaying JCW. Obviously, you have NO CLUE as to what Prime pays.
