They have even found oil reserves in NC between Raleigh and Charlotte. The new advances in horizontal drilling and fracing techniques have opened up the ability to get oil that these companies knew were there, but thought it wasn't cost effective until now.

I posted on another political thread some talk I heard from oil friends. The US stands to be totally energy independent and perhaps largest exporter again in 10-20 yrs. Hydraulic fracing has made deep fields long thought to be non profitable viable. Obama and Co are trying to kill it for some reason I can't figure . Green zealots I guess. As long as they do it correctly and make good on any accidents I'm all for it. Seen the huge impact on DFW area in last 10 yrs from Barnett Shale play. Billions of dollars in and only a handful of complaints. And many of those from losers looking for easy money. Few fires at water tank storage. Lightning strikes caused most. Overall a God send .
Hope you are able to get in on it. -
Big John,
If you don't mind me asking, which companies in this area need drivers? -
I have seen 2 wells drilled just north of the first exit on I-35 at the south end of Kansas in the last six months. They did set production equipment on one of the wells. I am not sure about the other.

Heimerman Trucking out of Conway Springs, KS has some trucks pulling dumps hauling but they also pull hoppers and tanks. I have seen some end dumps but can't recall the name of them. Most of the Kansas rock is coming out of Cedarvale,KS east of I-35. I am just south of you but most of my work is in northern and western Oklahoma. If you can get over to Anthony they are stock piling that rock at the diesel repair shop on the north side of town east of the hwy. I hear their is a company man for Shell Oil around their that maybe able to point you in the right direction or the shop owner has his number. I will keep a look out for trucks and see if I can get you some contacts if your looking for a job. They are saying it is going to be busy in that area.

I hear it takes awhile before they can get a frac crew out some have waited three to four weeks. I guess that is why Chesapeake has started their own Frac service with yards in Woodward, El Reno and OKC so far and from what I hear more on they way. Came recall the name of it but they are new blue Western Stars and blue/green trailers.daf Thanks this.

Performance Technologies, L.L.C is the name of this company. They had a yard full of stuff at Hodge's yard a while back.
Chesapeake is pretty close to being self sufficient when it come to the oil and gas industry.
