The trip to Reno wasn't pleasant this morning: "swerved to miss a deer"!

Fed-Ex truck accident, hazmat spill slows eastbound I-80 traffic near Truckee One eastbound lane of Interstate 80 has been reopened following a Fed-Ex truck's collision with a concrete wall and ensuing diesel spill, according to the California Highway Patrol. The wreck happened in I-80's eastbound lanes two miles west of the Nevada state line and 15 miles east of Truckee, closing the freeway in both directions. All westbound lanes and one eastbound lane are now open. The one closed eastbound lane will remain closed for cleanup of more than 100 gallons of spilled diesel fuel and wall repair. About 5:45 a.m., the Fed-Ex truck traveling eastbound struck the wall on the right side of the freeway, rupturing both fuel tanks, which were full at the time, the CHP said. The driver said he had swerved to avoid a deer in the road.

    #### Fedex drivers....They really do have a lot of wrecks. I think they will hire anybody with a doubles/triples endorsement, whether they know how to use it or not.

This was the second one that I know of. There was another fedex laid over in the median east of Grand Island.

I heard Fedex is putting hazmat placards on the roofs and underneath their trailers to help the cleanup crews.

I picture the cleanup crews to pull up to the scene of a rolled over Fedex truck, walk up to the driver and say "Hey Jeff....What happened this time?" and Jeff the driver says "Well Jerry, I think I zigged when I should have zagged" and when they are done Jeff says "See you next week buddy."
