I know someone who is doing it and is happy with it.
If this autotransport doesn't get better, I may look at it. -
I wished they would quit calling me about their stupid program. I have asked nicely and they keep calling me. They must go threw the FMCSA web site and get phone numbers of very small carriers and call and bug the #### out of them.
Crazy D Thanks this. -
They do get the numbers off of carrier profiles on safersys. I got four phone calls from them in one week earlier this month, and asked (very nicely) to be taken off their list. The lady explained that they didn't go by a list, that they basically cold-called small carriers based on the active MC#s on the safersys website.

I asked the last JB recruiter why would I want to pull your trailer around for your low rates. It cost me about the same to operate my truck at what your paying per mile. He couldn't give me a straight answer just told me their Independent Contractor's are doing real well and are very happy with the program.

Hard to believe anyone would'nt jump on their deal! I mean, after all you get that big fuel discount, free dispatching service and you don't even have to own a trailer.

In another thread a while back one poster, don't remember who at the moment, said "show me someone who has less than $1.50 per mile costs and I'll show you someone who missed something" or words to that effect. That's pretty accurate if all costs are calculated. Possibly a little more or less but if you have costs of $1.50 there's no way to make any money hauling their trailers around for the prices they are pushing. Unless it's worth it to have the pleasure of draggin that purty trailer around.

LOL..... Just got a call from Keith last week from Jb hunt $1.19 a mile and $.52 a mile fuel surcharge and $.62 a mile deadhead miles 100% drop and hook
That's the same thing I said how do anyone make money at this he said they have over 900 O/O doing it now and doing very well I'm sorry but at $4.00 a gal fuel it cost me $.72 a mile just in fuel than $.56 a mile to cover cost so if I want to make $.43 a mile I call them and ask for a job what a joke........ -
And that's only if you drive it yourself and want to make driver pay only. If you pay a driver a reasonable wage then you are basically at breakeven. Now maybe if you have a thousand trucks and can make a penny a mile profit---
-
I serious doubt if they have 900 O/O's and I bet they don't get the miles either. I would never work for mileage pay ever again running my own truck.
