I would pull a curtain over a van any day. Most of it is pull in/pull out deliveries to places that actually need what you are bringing. None of this back up and become a new addition to some warehouse. The securement is easy and no wrestling with tarps. The curtains can be a pain when it is cold and windy though. The biggest pains are the weight issues and the tandems. They try to load as much weight as a regular flatbed but the curtain weighs more. I wish they were spread axles instead of tandems.

Pulled a flat 4 years, then fell off a Steel King load, again. time for curtain. If your going to this fleet, get ready for a lot of east coast. I've had 6 drops in NYC in the last month. It is what it is, just dont them load you like a flat, or, you will be back.

there's also at least one curtain out there with spreads. watch out for it, because people will automatically belly-load it and you'll be too heavy on the drives.

i picked it up as a relay in gary, and it was 2000 pounds heavy on the front and had been all the way from cleveland.

Do you happen to have a new prostar? If so they scale out about 2000 lbs more than the Freightshakers.

i've scaled over gross four times with a 2011 and a 2012 prostar in the last year, with standard loads.

Everyone is trying to get every bit they can on every load. That is why you are seeing loads so heavy. The last load of particle board that I pulled on a curtain, I was over, and rather than take off an entire pack, they took off enough individual sheets to get me under 80k. Sorry you don't have any fuel, that is not our fault... I am pulling van now, and I have had alot of problems with loads that are over gross, and then have to wait around to get someone to "make in legal." I have been over by as much as 7k. I guess someones math wasn't too good that day...
