Frac Sand info for O/O

This is a great thread! Thank you Redimix. In your estimation, how much time do we have before we hit the market saturation point? In other words, how long until the requirement for drivers = the number of drivers available?

Lastly, what cities are the "hubs" for lack of better words to describe where most of the activity is happening?

So what are companies charging to ship this frac sand? I had heard some places were paying $300 a ton just for shipping, and the sand itself costs around $90-$100 a ton. Is this true?

 

Having been dealing with Frac Sand (other half is pulling it right now) for a while, much of what you say is true. You mentioned in one post a mid size sleeper..... Most of the stand up sleepers have no problems (other half deals with stand up sleepers on Petes & KW's).

As to the cycles of feast and famine..... We have seen it here locally. First with rock. It is now working on the over population of trucks in the water hauling (which yields to underbidding others)...... It will then move to Frac Sand. About this time, rock should start paying better and the vicious circle continues!!!!!!!!! Oh, joy joy.
