I would recommend Sentinel, they have terminals in Kennedy and a few other places in the Eagle Ford Shale area, also Sunoco, Thomas, Andrews (they haul loads for Sentinel when Sentinel can't keep up with the leases). I'm pretty happy with Sentinel right now, the money is pretty good and the atmosphere is good. Like most major companies they are very safety oriented which can be a headache, but I would highly recommend them.

It's a big Federal prison just west of Three Rivers.

Thank! I will check them out.
Does anyone know if Dillon Transport is a good company to drive for? I see that they are hiring drivers in George West. I was told that they pay 25% of the load...and they will mostly be hauling crude out of George West. I'm wondering what that will average out to... -
I checked with Sentinel and they won't be hiring more drivers for Kenedy until February.

It does not surprise me. -
You might have been hot -but it's never been that hot in TX. 120' twice. Once in Monahans and once in Seymour. Lot of people go off bank signs or Wally World t-stats. That don't count. Got to be a real meteorologist one in the shade read by expert. I spent 14 months in Iraq and we always had guys coming up with their pics of thermometers over 160'. It did get up to 130-135'. But never anything crazy like that. Humidity is Heaven compared to S LA. But not the food.

I just got my CDL and am looking for work. My plan was ND, but got a line on a TX job from a company I applied to in ND. Sounds like the pay is a bit lower but the conditions would be better starting out in the winter than up north I'd think.
Just curious if you TX guys are getting the hours like I'm hearing about in ND? -
i had done some checking on sunoco logistics in bay city, tx. this was back in june 2011 or around that time. the payscale was like .38 cpm plus so much per barrel and the total of that was what the trip paid. from my calculations the money wasn't all that great. i had it figured 12 hr. shift might be $200-$240. anybody have input? i think we would all like to know what the pay situation really is.
same thing goes for the carriers that pay percentage...how much $ per hour? -
Can't reply to PM's yet as my post count it too low... this is 6, 1 to go
