Out of curiousity, I went back and looked up my 2010 numbers. It was the last year I ran totally solo.
Total dispatched miles: 131,867
Gross Income before Taxes: 44,664.26 0.3387 per mile
I took 39 days off.
The two big differences between the two years is I started training in 2011 and ended up with more miles.
The second is controling fuel costs. In 2010 my fuel cost per mile was 0.1466
My fuel cost per mile in 2011 was 0.895
The fuel savings were the single biggest contributor. I don't know if I'll do that well again this year. There were several fillups where I was able to cash in on some significant savings.
Time will tell. -
Emulsified, 2010 was a good year for you too.
And I agree controlling of fuel costs is the biggest factor.
I actually ran 10,000 miles less this year, and took more time off, and made more money. I am happy. -

My fuel cost runs me pretty close to .15 cpm
I wish it was better but all those runs to and from Campbells Plants in Naploleon, OH and Maxton, NC 79,000 - 80,000 over those mountains just kills me. -
Emul.
You beat me this year.
Had to do students to do it.
I beat you fair and square last year.
Wanna up the bet this year? solo to solo... -
Any of you guys know the driver on the Alliance/Stevens web page that grossed $329,000. I was wondering what a 'regular' alliance driver would gross before any deductions? Solo & trainer.$329
