I am 23 years old now. I started trucking when i was 21 and have had a clean driving record every since. I have 2 years OTR experience no gaps. I am currently doing flat bed local. I worked for schneider national and decided to leave because of how ridicoulous it was getting. I turned my truck in to the terminal and took my car home. Tho I thought I was leaving on good terms, I called DAC today and come to find out Schneider put on there that I had improper use of equipment and was discharged, when I actually voluntary quit. I am disputing it, but i doubt anything will come of it. I am screwed out of getting another job OTR for the next 6 and 1/2 years. DO NOT WORK FOR SCHNEIDER!!
Schneider screwed me and I'm only 23

The dap is a joke, and most smaller, more reputable companies don't really give a s#!t about what's one there. Its true that these major companies often try to ###k up your career with the good ol d-a-p, but if you disclose the situation to your next employer and your work references are strong I don't think you'll have an issue with a smaller company

Thats the problem. I wanted to go with Maverick Flatbed cause its OTR and thats what I like. I am local now, home every night and I am not making the kind of money I could be making OTR.

Doesn't sound like Schneider at all to me .. Not saying thats not what happen but it just doesn't sound like where getting the whole story.
Gizmo_Man, Knotme, jakecat22 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Well thats what I found out on my dac report. Last time i checked when you quit and voluntary leave a company, it should say quit not terminated.
-
Well i agree with you . I was just asking was there more to this than you going to the terminal and quitting. Like maybe not telling them that you were leaving or deadheading home without permission or something . Im not trying to say you did anything wrong just nearly trying to find out why they would do that. It just doesn't sound like something they would do thats all.

No i told my dispatcher that I was quitting and needed a load to the terminal. She gave me the load, and I turned my truck in and got in my car and went home.

Well good luck getting that off hope it goes your way. I think there was a thread on here somewhere about quitting. Like send all info over Qualcom and take pictures so you have it for issues like this. Its a sad day when you have to cover your ars this way but its how the industry has gone.Red Hot Mess and Skip1965 Thank this.

Just out of curiosity, when you say you're local now, who do you drive for, and where, that you're making less money than otr? Im interested because my situation is polar opposite. I left otr in hopes of finding something local, mainly to be home with my son but also because they average better money out here. 20 applications and three interviews later, I'm s#!t out of luck and headed back otr.
