Well yall, i just left JCT today. It seem's wierd to continue posting there when i don't work there anymore. As some of you know i'm going back to my former empolyer MBM Foodservice outta' OKC. I don't know how much interest there is on here for Foodservice, but if anyone is interested please ask away and i'll be happy to give any info i can. If not we could use this thread as another place to hang out and shoot the bull, and share positive info. Or just vent about our day, lol.:biggrin_25523: I'm sure i don't have as many friends as JJ does, so this thread'll prodly be dead in a couple days, but i'll give it a shot, lol. Happy New Year everybody, and if anyone is interested in MBM, ask away.:biggrin_255:

Read JJ's thread closely, and you'll find mostly, the same people posting there. lol

Kind of curious tho and wonder if all the food svc industry, is basically the same?

What's crazy is that not even all MBM's are the same, lol. Basicly every center does certin customers and are set up for those customers only. Example: Our main customer is Golden Corral, the way our account is with them we only tailgate the stuff to the doors and they come get it. We only have a couple of steakhouse's that we do roll-in's at and there always small stops ( usually 100 cases or less ). Most foodservice companies like Sysco, ect., do alomost all roll- in's. Other MBM centers are different, like Ft. Worth they do mainly Carl's JR. and are all roll-in's. Some centers have lift gates, some don't. They even pay different. But it all works out about the same. I quit in Sept. of 2011 and had grossed over 52k already, and was home every couple of nights, so the money is there. You do have to earn it though, even with the tailgate stops, it can be hard work the way those warehouse guys load. But you never have to worry about sitting, with foodservice you will always be busy. Once you are done with a route, if the don't have a backhaul, they want that equipment back so they can load it again.

As i said before each center pays different. Ours pays day pay. Example: A 3 day route pays $700 a 2 day pays about $500, ect, ect. A new hire gets 85% of the route pay for the first 30 days, then 90% for the first 6 months, then 95% from 6 months to a year. After a year your at full pay. You also get $30 for a backhaul and $10 for a stop with a roll-in. You also get 1 week paid vacation after 1 year, and 5 days of paid floating holidays per year along with 5 days paid sick leave, you receive these after the 90 day probation period. Also Blue Cross/ Blue shield after 90 days and a 401 k with company match after a year.

Well it just depends on what route you get. But for the most part they are trying to scale everything back to 2 and 3 day routes. So usualy KS,NE to the north MO, AR east some IL and all of TX and eastern NM. There is one team route that does Denver and one that does Southern CA. When i first started i did some solo routes to CA and CO and a team route to WA and Vegas, but they don't have them anymore. Preaty much all midwest for the most part.

One other thing i did'nt mention was how the day pay for a route works, anything over 6 hours is considered a day's pay. So for example, say you have a route that leaves at 1 am Mon. and is scheduled to return at 7 am Wed, thats 2 days 6 hours. That would be considered a 3 day route. You could then go home for your break and leave on another route early Thurs. am, still less than 72 hours before you left on the other route that paid you 3 days pay.

Hey, just think. You could be sitting at a trk stop, waiting on a load. Been here since yesterday. Supposed to do something with me by noon, if they can't find me anything else.
