Just saying i enquired about a company position. They said they only hire Reactivate drivers for company positions . So maybe they arent as honest as everybody claims why would they tell me that if that wasnt the case just saying.

It depends on where you live and they have to have openings. To be honest I would not want to be a company driver here. The most you can make is .45 a mile and I make about .60 a mile after expenses. They route you and tell you where to fuel. I just would not want to be a company driver anywhere honestly. Well except Walmart.

    Hey Tinman!

I (as well as most, if not all Glen Moore drivers) also left Indy after bringing the Glen Moore equipment there. Sell-a-con is a sad sack! It costed me $200 out of my pocket to get back to my vehicle with my property. I'd never work for them if they were the last company on the earth!

Let me know how ACT is going. I am looking for a new job after the holiday. Let me know the details of their company driver...and leasing program, too. Thanks! Happy holidays!

Surpringly, most of the drivers Celadon invited to work stayed. There were 40- some who left out of over 300. I doubt many will stay very long, though. I think most were just biding time until they had something else lined up. I know I'm not very likely to stay, but I didn't want to rush choosing my next carrier.

Im with BK on the co. driver gig,but 45/miles seems like pretty good pay to me.I ran across my first disgruntled driver at ACT since Ive been here(5 weeks),in SC picking up a heavy paper load going back to Liberty. The guy(company driver) said Jan 1 he was going to quit and go to another carrier.I asked him why andhe said that ever since the economy slowed down ACT quit giving him miles and was stealing from him.He didnt elaborate on the stealing part, said hed been with ACT for 8yrs.I think the man was burned out and just needed a change. When I got back to Liberty I talked with another co. driver and he said yeah its been a little slow, mostly due to the hollidays but he didnt mind because he was spending alot of time at home. He's been with the co. 5yrs.So it looks like to me that most people here seem to be happy, both co. and l/o's.

I think a lot were using the truck just to get home since they stranded us all in Indy without any notice (so they didn't have to pay to recover all of the equipment there). I know everyone I talked with said they had no intentions of sticking around and were looking for something new. Within 2 months, I doubt very many will still be there. I put aside A LOT while with Glen Moore and I will take my time researching my next job. They gave me way too many reasons to run away as fast as I could...just being honest. Best of luck...and happy new year! :biggrin_255:

I hear ya. I ran team for GM my partner quit two weeks b4 they sold out. I had been watching the posts on this forum for a month or so after I answered an add on craigslist. It sounded almost too good to be true like everyone in this industry is used to. I got lucky my fleet manager for GM let me go by house I dropped
Off all my stuff except for bare necessities and went to Indy. When I checked in at gate that was all I needed to see. I pulled up to inspection bay. Grabbed my stuff and walked out the gate. Never looked back. Went to bus station rode a bus to Kansas City and here I am. So far I am very impressed with the people here its been a little slow because of the holidays but still not all that bad. It's the people that makes this company different. They act like they really care. Not been lied to yet that i know of. Looks like the money is gonna be ok too. It's all about fuel mileage here that's the key to success. Good luck whatever u decide

    Tinman,

Good deal! I threw my stuff into my vehicle and proceeded to drive down to Key West. I'm taking a break in the warm sunshine. Rough life, right? LOL I will be headed back soon and will start applying. I've been researching a lot of companies. There are whole lot of not-so-great ones. Hope ACT works out for you! Keep us updated how it is going. Thanks...and all the best to you!
