sure is QUIET there....my husband and I just watched it....he's a crude driver home for Christmas and will be heading back to ND in a couple of days. Interesting stuff. It gave me a good perspective of where he's at, what he's doing. Thanks for posting.

I am a 42 yr old former Marine. 88-92 I was a program coordinator for 10 yrs. in a Juvenile Delinquent Program. I have pulled for Swift, Crete, H&O and currently own cargo Van and haul for Tri-State express. I have 7 years dry van and refer.
I have owned several businesses including a Pizzeria, BBQ and 2 Donut shops.
I am self motivated and need little supervision once I learn a new Job.
I let my Hazmat expire last year, working on the finger prints again now. Also will take doubles and tanker endorsement on Tuses.

If you are willing give me a shot or know a company that will please shoot me a message.

They use scorio on most all the roads up here. That's why all the lease roads are red.

I came to ND from Az in Nov, with a brand new CDL (no experience) with all endorsements. I lined up interviews in Marmarth, New Town and Williston before coming. (That means I filled out applications and other paperwork, and talked to people on the phone and set up an appointment for interview before coming.)

Stopped in Marmarth first and really liked the feel of the area. It is a real quite corner of the oil patch, mostly water hauling and service work. There are only two drilling rigs (Continental Resources) in the area.

Then drove to New Town. That area is like an ant hill of activity. I hung around there for a day and never reported for the interview. I then went to Williston for a day. I liked the town but decided if the Hamm & Phillips yard in Marmarth would hire me, that is where I was headed.

I hired on with H&P on Nov. 16. The money is a little less than what you can make farther north, but that is off-set by having a dry, warm room and a hot shower only 9 miles from the yard. It is called the Bunkhouse and costs $350 a month. There are currently plenty of rooms available, so lodging is no problem.

H&P is a good company with good benefits and the crew is good to work with. If you have a CDL they will train you on the rest of what you need to know, including getting you up to speed driving the trucks and teaching you how to do the real work that the trucks were built for, getting your loads on and off, working with stuck valves and frozen tanks and assisting the oil company personnel with repairs on their lines and other equipment (blowing down wells to reverse pressure, sucking on lines with gear pump and/or vac and other work). They also run schedules that all us drivers like.

Now to the point. H&P needs another driver, now. Call 701-279-5522. The manager is Shane, the man that runs daily operations is Lee, and the dispatcher is Allison. Shane does the hiring so ask for him first. Allison can email you all the paperwork you need to get started. This is a good opportunity, with good money and a great place to work. If you have no driving experience I encourage you to consider coming here to get started. Get a years experience here before taking on the challenges of the opportunities up north. Who knows, you might even stay.

If you are interested in coming, you will need to get in touch with Roxie. She runs the Bunkhouse. She can be reached at the Little Missouri Smoke Shop in Marmarth. 701-279-6612

My name is Keith. I will follow up on replies as I have opportunity. Time off is usually spent on Skype the wife, sons, grandkids and other friends and family. However, there is always time for someone that comes by the Bunkhouse for a visit.
