To me the $45 a year is worth it just to get a no BS straight answer to any question I have.

I used Fleetone for several years without a problem. About 3 years ago I had a driver who embezzled about $2,000 for repairs that were never made to the truck that he was assigned. Repairs were paid for with a Fleetone check. I have been trying to get a copy of the check once I found that the driver embezzled the funds. Fleetone has refused to provide a copy of the check that would prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the driver is guilty of embezzlement. The way they have handled this, they and their attorney have been accessories after the fact in the commission of a felony. The last time I spoke to their attorney he told me that they would not provide any information until I got an attorney. Most banks would be more than willing to help put this person in prison. Unfortunately, Fleetone has resisted. I was told that the check that I used were their property and they they would not provide a copy of the check. I will need to take action shortly on this matter. I will likely need to file a lawsuit against Fleetone in order to get this resolved. I figure that Fleetone must have something to hide for them to avoid providing me the proof that I need to put this guy in prison. I have probably posted more information about this than I should, but that is the gist of the problem that I have had with Fleetone. Since this has happened, I would not do business with any organization that promoted Fleetone.

Not trying to be snarky GMan, but doesn't OOIDA (I am a member) use Fleetone for their fuel card? I also dislike Fleetone, so I am not trying to promote them.

Fleet One is not a bank nor regulated as such and is not insured by the FDIC.
While I agree looks like they would or should help in your matter.

I was a member of OOIDA for many years before getting involved with Fleetone. OOIDA did try to help, but there is little that they have been able to do in this matter. I would like to see them go with a different fuel card, such as TCH or Comdata. There are a number of other options that would work as well or better. Even if you use Fleetone there isn't much of a discount at most fuel stops. It is usually only about $0.02/gallon and those are usually at independents. You do save the transaction fee. I can do as well using a PDCA card as with a Fleetone.

At one time Fleetone was owned by Regions Bank, I believe. It is my understanding that they are now independent. Whether they are insured by the FDIC or not should not have anything to do with them trying to shelter a criminal act or conspiring with their attorney to abeit after the fact in the commission of a felony. It is likely to get ugly before this is over.

Were do you get that? We use FleetOne and I just check the prices with Petro/TA and are discount as of tonight is anywhere from 15 to 22 cents off the cash price. True when oil prices move up the discount goes down but I have never failed to save on less than 0.05 cents off the cash price. A few months ago when oil drop $5 I was getting 0.55 cents off the cash price the next day while truck stop only move there prices down a nickel at best a week later. The company I'm leased to has 6 or 7 company trucks and there savings as of the first of November was $18,000.00 vs paying the cash price at the pump. Now the down side to this is we cant just pull into Pilots, Flying J, or Love's to fuel, but that aint no problem for me as I dont wanna use them anyways, I rather use a real truck stop.
    Just my 2 cents.:biggrin_255:

My Fleetone account was through OOIDA and was called Truckersadvantage. We only received a $0.02/gallon discount and no transaction fee. I am sure that Fleetone has partnered with others to offer a brand specific program. I would have thought that OOIDA could have negotiated a much better discount with so many members. I checked the website and they are apparently still only offering a $0.02/gallon discount at certain fuel stops. In any case, I have to ask myself and Fleetone why they refuse to help put a criminal away who committed a felony using their product. So far they have stonewalled me on giving me what I need. I have to ask myself why they would want to help someone get away with fraud. It makes them accessories to the crime. I think that most companies would want to help put someone like that away. Because of the way Fleetone has handled this matter, I have lost confidence in their integrity and will have nothing to do with any of their products.

I've worked for carriers that got similar discounts from FleetOne and was always suspicious of the OOIDA arrangement . I really suspect OOIDA gets part of the discount from every card issued on their plan .

I think that it is very likely that OOIDA gets part of the discount. Most carriers who offer fuel discounts when using their cards get part of the discount for themselves.
