Where must they go with the backhaul? Will it deliver in Mexico? Can they drop in Laredo then hook to a load from a Mexican shipper? And what about the exchange rate? What are the pesos per mile rate? Will flying j accept pesos? Will flying j operate in Mexico?

Honestly my bigger concern is the lack of the Mexican control. Like what is to say a Central American truck from say down in Belize, or Panama or one those countries doesn't make it's way up here?
-
It might actually help some of you people to read what the agreement states the Mexican carriers can and can't do. The rules are pretty clear, and most of your comments make no sense, because they have no bearing on anything.
-
Actually you are right. I made my last statement without really thinking or knowing the facts. Just kind of put it out there wondering without researching it. My mistake. (Not being condescending, I really mean it).
-
Ronnocomot; tell me how allowing Mexican truckers to deliver loads here will benefit you?
I just don't see the benefit to any American. I'm not being a smart @zz I'm being serious. If you can show me ONE legitimate way it will benefit me or any American I will shut up about this forever. I know this will sound callous but, I don't care how it benefits Mexican truckers and their families.
You can't agrue that it won't take loads away from American's because it will. Coming into the country and going out.
The floors yours.............. Or any other Mexican Truckers Supporters -
Even lower prices at Wal-Mart.

I find it amazing that the only worry is how it will benefit American truckers... International trucking, truckers of different nationalities crossing multiple borders to get loads to certain destinations on time is a part of the trucking industry internationally. However, some USA citizens believe it is their right to have control of everything that happens to people in other countries?
This is a link to a single trucking company in southern Africa, and you can see where they run to... 7 countries:

I could find examples from South America, and Europe too, but I think you get my point.
People in America need to adopt a live and let live attitude in my opinion. -
Come on another lame argrument, international trucking yeah let me know the next time you see a truck from South Africa here making a delivery. We're not geograpohically setup to have to deal with international trucking plus we have a much higher standard of living then Mexico and I would like to keep it that way. I don't want to end up with 20 million people in my home town like Mexico City. Keep opening the border and we'll be the United States of America'S, well at least the screaming liberals would like that.
I notice NONE of you will take my challenge from my earlier post on HOW it will benefit you or any American. Again I don't care about the Mexican family back in Mexico, I care about the future of my grandson pictured in my avatar and his future and well being, hopefully he'll be able to find a job and not have to learn spanish to get one. -
I already answered you, it will result in lower prices for U.S. consumers.
-
Just a curious question. How do you figure this?
My thought if a company has to drop its freight rates to compete, then I believe a drop in wages to driver could follow. This is just simple economics.
