Oh, and i will say that Mill is not what i would call a typical road. Mostly the road is located next to gypsum mines where these facilities are located. It's paved and signed - but not heavily traveled by most people in town if i had to guess, and somewhat off path.

All good. I did check, and i had notifications set to audio/visual so i don't understand the weigh station issue. All the other notifications seem to be operational. But i did hook it up to my dock and updated it on the Rand website (took awhile) - not sure if that will help or not. I would assume the alert is either there or not.
We'll see. I'll be heading to Atlanta from Nashville and if i get the alerts great, if not i'll see if you can help me out.
Thanks again. -
To follow up - after connecting to the Dock and getting the TND updated, i can now see weigh station icons on my route. It bobbled this morning and did notify me of the station leaving TN on route 65 nb, but did not notify me of the one a couple miles up the road on the other side of the KY line.
I don't know if that's normal or not, but it seems to be at least giving me some indicators now which is much better than where i was before. Good stuff. Not to be a bother, but one other thing i've noticed vs. my TomTom, is that the TT is much closer to the actual locations address than the TND. Sometimes where the TT is spot on, the TND will still say "500 feet" or something.
Perhaps it's just the difference in programming, i dunno. Thanks again for your help.Mark Kling Thanks this. -
Hi, new to the group. Just want to start off by offering a piece of advice if it hasn't already been given. Make sure to discharge any static build up before touching the screen. I cannot get my screen to align now, had a 500, now I have a 510.
-
Have you tried to go to preferences/device/screen alignment?
Thanks,
Mark -
I wouldn't have thought so either but tell that to my gps unit. Had problems the moment that spark hit, bought the unit in September 2010 never had any major issues. It was half a screen off alignment so I only had access to the bottom screen/button options and couldn't tap the device tab at the upper right corner to get into it that way. Call customer service and he explained holding the center screen at the disclaimer screen, took a few minutes to figure out where the center had moved to but got into the alignment and went through it twice, it seemed fine after that but had to get moving so I turned it off. When I turned it on again it was not clicking anything. I can still get into alignment screen but it just goes on and on and never finishes.

Unless you are playing with high voltage lines, static does not damage the TND.
When you found the alignment was not working properly, were you within the 1 yr of purchase? If so, did you contact Customer Support for warranty?
Thanks,

This just happened on friday so no warranty. Im still going to be careful with my static though, I mean either that shock did it or it was an extreme coincidence that the screen went bad at that precise moment. Any idea what it might cost to fix?
