I guess you haven't seen the carnage out there that 20 yr old rookies cause.
Perfectly understandable given you're still new and have spent your limited time in the patch.
You should try getting out more and broaden your horizons. It'll give you a whole different perspective on things and perhaps enlighten you.Mule Bleue Thanks this. -
No timmies so your sense of smug superiority can sniff my arse
Any chance you point out the starting point for me as I not sure where to start since your ALL "ARSE" -
You know one day you might be so lucky to reach that age, for as hard as it is at this time in your life. You will see that being 60 or over does not make you need to be put out to pasture. As for my self I pan on driving for 4 or 5 more years as long as my health is good and I can be safe. Companys what a man or woman that that can depend on to be there every day, day in and day out. No some young fly be night that may be here today and gone tomorrow. Now you have a good day

Mule Bleue, snafu, elmo01 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I don't understand the issue presented here, and why it's so contentious. I'm all for mandatory retesting of ALL drivers once they've reached the age of 65. Just as I'm all for the graduated licensing done for ALL new drivers in most provinces, if not all. No one is saying you have to lose your CDL at age 65. Just that, since you're getting to an age where your motor skills generally decline, and those motor skills are what help to keep you safe while on the road, why not be retested?

bingo!!!!! all drivers.. and that goes for the folks driving those huge rv's up and down the highway... now that is even scarier than a 67 year old big truck driver lolllRoadfreedom Thanks this. -
As an almost 70 year old I'll ask, Why not? I'm in good shape, pass my annual medical exam, don't NEED the money and love my job. A couple of weeks ago when I had to chain up in the cold wet snow, for a moment at least, I thought I might quit.

I have friends who are retired. Every time we get together for a coffee the conversation gets around to my work and they think its great I still want to work.
I'm not saying work past 65 is for everyone but there should not be rules forcing someone who is capable and wants to work to play golf or watch TV all day.crankit2152, Mule Bleue, Big Don and 3 others Thank this. -
I am all for retesting ALL drivers every few years after 60 or so. I don't think it should be just truckers however. I agree on the big RVers, they are way more dangerous than any trucker that has all the physical, mental, and driving training. But I see no problem in having a "refresher" for anyone. But do not single out truckers.
Mule Bleue, Big Don and elmo01 Thank this. -
How is this for an exception to age related concerns? Great lady and a great car.
