Spending some time home with the fam right now, what a deep breath it has been. My first solo run took me 2450 miles through the winds and ice of Wyoming, the snow in utah and winds, snow, and ice in Oregon. Had me re thinking this whole thing for sure. BUT with a few days of baby love and hot fresh food my mind is on straight again. Get to spend 7 days home this time, as it is the first time. Had a little run in with the black poles in the fuel isle at the yard, after patching my ego and having a talk with safety it was decided to still allow me off the yard, it was Christmas eve so I think I skated a out fairly painlessly, see what comes of it later. Not much damage was done just a dent in my bottom step, hurt my ego more than anything. Alright drivers have a great new years and see you on the road no sooner than Friday. PS, dont tell my wife but I miss my truck already!!!

A wise man once said: "If you're gonna screw up, whatever you do, don't do it on the YARD!!"
Don't worry too much. When I was at the yard last time, I saw a driver go to drop a loaded trailer in the spot right next to the guard house...except he forgot to drop the landing gear. He backed in, jumped out, pulled the pin, unhooked the air lines, jumped back into the truck, pulled away, and #### his pants. Luckily, he caught it before he pulled completely out from under the trailer. Needless to say, it made a whole bunch of not fun noises and scared the crap out of the security guard who came running out of the house at full speed. -
Shifty,
Don't feel bad.
We all do something in the beginning.
At least your trailer didn't end up in Elliot Bay like one unnamed driver here at Stevens did when he was starting out.
He learned why you chalk tires when disconnecting a pup.
