Hello, I joined this forum today in search of guidance in using my CB radio. I am an RN with a 50 miles commute to the facility were I work. I travel I-78 and need to know what is ahead on the road so I can detour before I am stuck in traffic for hours. Being an essential employee (as my ID badge reads)I am required to be there when scheduled no matter what the road conditions are. I had no intensions to drive 50 miles one way to work ( or I would've been a truck driver). The previous facility I had worked at closed and this was the closest option within the system. I only intended to do this until I got my pension vested, however I really enjoy what I do and I appreciate the staff I work with. I listen to country music, my beverage of choice is Diet Coke with Lime or coffee with Amaretta creamer. I watch the local news daily and at times Judge Judy. The show I most enjoy is Revenge. It is intriguing and I find myself setting the DVD to view it the next day. I am married to a wonderful man for the past 17 yrs and I enjoy spending my few waking hrs. at home with hubby and our furkids.

Ditch the CB and get an Android phone or tablet. Then enable traffic on Google Maps. It is much more effective and much less vulgar.
rodzilla and deadeyetrucker Thank this. -
I have an Android. With the CB my ears will be listening while my eyes are focused on the road. It will not be long before you can't use a cell while driving. As for the vulgar language, I hear that at work all the time. Thank you for your opinion.

A GPS with traffic updates can be helpful in SOME areas.

vulgar language in a hospital..........

I work in a Psychiatric Hospital! Yes, some get pretty nasty and vulgar especially when they want something they can't have d/t docs orders. They try to manipulate staff to give it to them anyway. When they don't get their way they attack mostly verbally but sometimes physically. Interesting profession.
keepitsimple Thanks this. -
as long as ya do not get beat up..............
