Yeap. on Kingsway, next to Tim Hortons. Hey Nate, I'm supprised
-
Surprised? Why?
-
Let's just say Laci didn't have a positive experience at Sysco...
-
vman...BINGO!!!
Nate, I'm suprised because you got a good job that we can call it truck driver. Do what you have to do, You might be happy there, like many other guys.
Other hand...No snow in Vancouver, no chaining, No road closures because of avalanches...You might miss that ....
-
What was wrong with your experience there? Pm me if you don't feel like posting it.
Thanks! -
Nate, if your anything like me, you will likely hate Sysco.
Your coming from flat deck work and messing with heavy equipment, which is great in my opinion, the best kind of trucking. Imagine going from what your doing now to delivering groceries to stores and restaurants in back alleys. You will have to go all over the place, North Vancouver, Richmond, you name it, all the crappy holes the Lower Mainland has to offer.
Find something where you can stick around an area your comfortable with. -
Im personally having a ball at sysco money is great the work isnt that hard at all

How' s it going? I saw your post yesterday and you said you were really enjoying it. I was really enjoying it too, when I was with my trainer, but since I've been on my own, it's been tricky.
They tell you not to pay attention to XATA, but I'm 2-3 hours behind almost everyday. 13 stops, 40-115 pieces. I hate being behind, but stuff happens, customers not satisfied with stuff, want credits, you get further and further behind each stop.
Last Friday, I worked 13 hours, and yesterday I worked 14 hours. But, I'm told, it's going to happen.
Sometimes, order selectors put pieces on the wrong skid. Almost every day, I find one piece barried at the bottom of another skid, stops later. But, you don't want to waste time, and you just issue a credit.
Each Subway, White Spot etc, is different...some want frozen first, then cooler, then dry, or whatever. It's tricky to remember who wants what.
Cheers,
V
I definately don't have the same feelings I did when I first started, but I know things will get better. Once you get to know packaging, familiarity with boxes, product, etc, things will get better.
All this, while not stopping for a break.
It's a good job -
Just have to think about the money
