    No owner O/O here - just an employee / contractor

    I run Az to Ca and back. Never touch the triples. Ive been with ABF just over 6 years, and just now got a day run bid. I like it.

    Here's my typical run.

    My run last night was a lay-down to San Bernadino via Las Vegas.

    Left Kingman at 1800 Monday.Got to Vegas terminal at 2015. Did a quick drop hook. My set was already made. Then cruised down to S.B. a total of 354 miles. Finished and went to hotel at 0030.

    354 x 59.6cpm = $210.98
    Fuel-.25 x $23.90 = $5.98
    Drop and Hook- .$23.00 x .50 = $11.95

    Total= $228.91

    Today left S.B with a direct run to Kingman at 1100. 284 miles. I get paid by the mile or 8 hrs minimum. Which ever is greater. So this run pays me 8 hours.

    8 Hrs x $23.90= $191.20.

    Total round trip $420.11

    Now I'll be home bout 1700 tonight. Won't leave till between 1200 and 1800 tomorrow.

    Conservative to the Bone.
    R.I.P. Ron Paul 2012. Hahaha!!!

    Get on at an LTL company, and run linehaul, and you will make more money than you ever thought you would driving a truck.

    UPS Ground has drivers making $125k......UPS Freight has guys making $100k...The average linehaul driver at Freight last year grossed around $85k.

    Geez, I see so many posts how bad unions are. Looks like that's where the money and benefits are.

    I made 25k working 5 months at conway. And thats not counting sitting at home some days due to it being slow. Could have made 30ish in that time frame if i worked consistently
