Sounds like my last job 11 years down the tubes at least I got vested in my pension as long as its still there when I retire.

It is pointless and counterproductive to break your paycheck down into an hourly rate when you're not working a job that pays by the hour.

The job is what it is and it pays what it pays. Breaking it down by the hour serves no useful purpose. If you're happy with what you get for what you do, there is no reason to be concerned with the hourly rate. And if you're unhappy with what you get for what you do, figuring your hourly rate isn't going to change anything and will likely only make you more unhappy.

    Well said!!!

From time to time somone will come here and whine because he doesn't get paid $20 an hour from the time he leaves the house till he gets back to the house.
That has never been the way Long haul trucking pays.

If you don't think you're getting paid enough for this work....Leave!

City/regional company driver here. Paid $23 per, no matter what I'm doing. Not going to become a millionaire, but I'm doing all right, and always seem to still have some cabbage in my wallet when the next check comes around.

Why is it that a concept so simple escapes so many??. Reading the "Raise driver pay" thread makes one think that, perhaps like in the movie "Antz" everyone is assigned their station in life at birth and if you are assigned the duty of "Truck driver" that is what you have to do your whole life no matter what.
