Better yet have a device on the CB that the minute some driver says something vile or ignorant he gets a nice little shock. I mean nothing serious... no more than 50 thousand volts... anything above that would be a little too much I think.![]()
Cell phone use to be outlawed, if new law passes...

I've watched drivers do some crazy things successfully while on the phone. Including but not limiting to backing into some REALLY tight places and putting the trailer right in there without any pull-ups..
I agree that even though I know i can do two things at once and am a safe driver even when i the phone, i do make it a point to LIMIT how often i do it, and i never talk on the phone in traffic or near bigger cities, but again, that's just me, lot's of other people don't.. I know that everyone isn't the same way, though. Some people do take advantage of it and that's going to screw us in the long run I think.
I think requiring hands free would be enough in my opinion. We do need the phone more than the average every day 4 wheeler does... It's not because we are more important it's because we run business and we are working while on the road, four wheelers will also find it much easier to pull over if they need to make a phone call. The last time i pulled off to the side of the road in Illinois i had captain america the DOT officer wanting to search my truck for it.. So forgive me for not jumping right on that

Good grief! The real threat is the general public....not the ones that log 100,000 + miles a year!

Hmm that's profiling, and profiling is wrong.

In New York cell phones have been banned for a few years now except for hands free, and I understand that certain things like texting or checking e-mails on your phone should never be done while driving (and something like that should be a criminal offense), and there are situations where it isn't appropriate to use your phone, like when backing up or driving through an area with a lot of pedestrians, but this new law, which includes hands-free phones, may be taking things a bit too far. Companies need a way to keep in contact with their drivers and give them directions, let them know if there are any additional pick-ups, or if there is a lane closed on the bridge they were planning on taking, etc.

That's not what the law says. The bill banning all cell phones was shot down.
