Home every night. Off 1 day every three or four days.
I suspect you can still find affordable places to rent in Bowman (a 33 mile drive to the yard) or Baker, MT. (a 27 mile drive to the yard). No idea if anything is available in Marmarth (9 mile drive) or not, other than the Bunkhouse. You will have to check with Roxie about your friend staying here.
Mid-Feb will be three months that I have been here. Shane is allowing me a Friday off to go along with my week-end in Feb. My wife is flying to Dickinson that Thursday evening and I will drive up there after work to get her. In another two or three months I will do the same three day weekend (hopefully), but fly home.

Guess I could have searched earlier. Rouzie Rec Center. I should have known been in that building before, and used the outdoor swimming pool when I was younger.

Hello.....I have 15 years OTR driving experience in ALL weather conditions and a spotless driving record. 14 years of it as a owner/ operator. From 2004 to 2010 I owned up to 6 trucks. Over the past 2 years sold all the trucks and trailers. I currently still have my truck and 2 stepdecks and a spread axle reefer. I have been running under my own authority since 2002. All my credentials are current (base plate, D.O.T. #, IFTA, insurance etc)
*QUESTION*
1) I wanted to start working in the western patch (Williston,ND) or eastern patch (Minot,ND). Is it possible for me to haul ANYTHING on my stepdeck to and from sites or supplies/equipment for the oil/gas compaines up there daily and get paid by the hour? I want to work 2 weeks straight (I would be available 7 days a week during that time) and then take time off. Then 2 weeks straight again. I want to stay in my truck during that time. Is something like that possible?
2) would it be possible to set up directly with a oil/gas company to do something like that? Or is there a company up there I could lease too?
3) if I need to lease on to a outfit and pull their trailer that's fine too if the 2 weeks on and then time off schedule works for them and the pay per hour is fair.
I'm 41 years old and in great shape. No medical problems and non smoker. I'm intelligent (but not a know it all), HARD WORKER, great attitude, fast learner, think safety, can follow directions and work well with others.
I'm not looking to buy trucks or add drivers in the future.....I'm DONE with that mess! I just want to work hard for good pay and when I'm on time off I go spend it with my wife and kids.
Any suggestions would be appreciated! I'm ready to start ANYTIME
Thank-you,
Brent -

What would hauling fresh or production out of Stanley pay per hour for an O/P on average?
Thank you,
Brent -
I have GREAT backing skills. What would something like this pay per hour? Are there O/P positions for work like this or company positions only? What would a company position in this line of work pay per hour?

Don't listen to all that self aggrandizing BS. It's not that hard driving winch trucks or cranes. And you don't have to be exactly perfect. You can be a couple inches one way or other. Got 20 yr olds running all over TX hauling rigs on 9+axle rigs. Crane is harder. Setup is everything. Most modern ones have computers to keep you from getting in too much trouble. Training is the hard part. If you are willing to work you can do anything in the oil patch. And that means NOT driving much on most jobs. If you haul sand, water, crude, chemicals you will. But most jobs require a CDL just to move high dollar equipment from point a to point b and then the real work starts.
If you really want to get into the oilpatch then YOU need to walk in in person and tell them you are ready to work. No BS. No my kid sneezed so I'm taking a week off crap. Have your cold weather and rain gear handy and be prepared to use it. Night/day. No matter. The job goes on and that is why they pay well. You have to sell yourself!!! Good luck.
