I'm seriously looking into trucking schools in Northern Virginia (where I live now) and Middle Tennessee (where I lived from August 2005 to April 2011). I've been looking at a few different options in Northern Virginia, almost none of which I can find any reviews on.

I've been going off of a list provided on Virginia DMV's website. The only one I have been able to find any reviews about on here and through using Google is Shipper's Choice. Needless to say, the reviews were so overwhelmingly negative, that's already an option I've crossed off my list. However, I've been able to find very little about three other options in the area:

    1) A-1 CDL Driving School near Manassas, VA. From what I can tell, this is a fairly new school, only a few years old. However, I am kind of wary of any business that uses tricks to get them at the top of alphabetized listings.
    2) 1st CDL Training Center of NOVA in Alexandria. Their website is a joke, but has basic info. However, I am concerned with the fact that I get a couple of different area addresses when I google the name of the company.
    3) The Community College Workforce Alliance Center at Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg, VA. This is the public school option, and probably the cheapest. I was hoping someone here might have attended there, or at one of the other locations in the state.

I am actually going to John Tyler Community College in Chester. Was the best option for me in the area. Have heard horror stories about Shippers Choice. Not sure about the other ones tho.

I have just finished my second week of driver training at Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, VA. You are probably right, the college will be the cheapest of the 3.

Which school did you decide on? I'm currently looking at A-1 and the school through Germanna, and any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated
