Good eye! That is a 384 (we have a half dozen of each, 641-646 are 384s and 649-654 are 386s if I remember correctly). Jeff (white Pete 384) is a good guy. I think winter may be his least favorite season solely because it means he has to wash and polish his truck more, oh yeah, and he can't use his boat!

you would be placed out of service in ny or pa for not having 2 straps on the front and rear pallets of the straw load
-
I see at least three-four Raven Transport 384's and yours by far look the best. If you do not mind me asking, whats the difference in spec's as far as engine size between the 386's??
KHJDP Thanks this. -
Nothing, both have C-13s w/ 2007 emissions standards. Hood length is the only difference. Thanks for the compliment, the drivers of those trucks actually had input on the decals (or lack-there-of). Some guys chose specific color schemes, and some preferred to have only the company name and MC# and the essentials, no extras.
The Challenger Thanks this. -
Risk?

That's obviously a practice that we don't condone! Going a half mile is not an excuse to skimp on securement. It's an issue that has to be looked into further. It's surprising that a driver(s) would do that, especially considering all the DOT officers that swarm around ILS.Last edited: Jan 11, 2012

They could try but none of that is structural. The whole thing is considered a tarp.
-
That was about 3 years ago now reinhart and D.O.T. officer sits between tyson foods and warren watching for that
-
Still trying to figure out what the risk is? One tarp company makes straps just for that purpose. Oh I wish the systems were $10k, closer to $15,731.52 to be exact.

I just laugh when I see people say you can't haul oversized loads with a conestoga. If I didn't want to strap the kit fwd I can remove it. Except for the bulkhead I can roll the whole kit off the trailer by removing 2-4 bolts depending on the brand. I take them off at least once a year just to check the rollers.

If you don't have a forklift some companies sell a stand, or you could make one.
