Hi trkrshoney... Thanks for your answer. When you say secure "pay" that means that I have to pay for parking from my own pocket or the company pays for parking???? How that works???

I think if its a company truck and pay to park site, they will reimburse you if you scan in rcpt with your next trip via transflo.

    Dieselten77 Thanks this.

On another note, I think I will fill up in Oklahomo before dropping in Amarillo. Its $3.56 a gallon.

I had quit the antagonizing for awhile, but I couldnt resist.I probably should have went to bed also.I am just getting tired of these know it all o/o and their Im above the system attitude. Now of course all o/o are not like this I know.So for those of you that do it right thats not intended for you.And for those of you that know there are a lot of good drivers that are not o/ops.

Go to the yard today to do my clearance sheet, and lo and behold I have the new 200 series e-logs on my truck.Good thing I showed up today, instead of saturday morn like norm.Of course it doesnt work properly and wont let me log-in.If I had showed up saturday morn expecting to roll,I would have been screwed. So of course Im going to have to go back manana and make sure its working properly,so I can be taken off safety hold. When I went back in to compliance I wasnt a happy camper.A clearance sheet that should have taken an hr,has turned into two days of my time off because they didnt bother to inform me it was going in.(can you imagine the h-ll I would have raised if I had shown up on Saturday morn to find that.Just what I love to do.Spend my time intended for my family, getting their misinstallation of their system corrected.Pissed off the compliance department when I went back in there. My bad,its not their fault. But when Im irritated somebodies going to take the brunt.I turned and walked out before it escalated to far.So now Im going to have to head back to the yard manana to make sure its working properly.JOY,JOY.

Here's the biggest difference between owner ops and L/O at Stevens.....
    1) you have a warranty and I don't.
    2) I can drill holes in stuff and I don't get charged.
    3) most owners get paid the same as u do.
    4) I can pay mine off and go where I want, if I wanted to.
    5) personal preference and you have a warranty ...... lol

Personal opinion here, but since I've been both sides of the fence, I'll offer it.
I think Stevens treats the L/Os just a little bit better and the system is set up a bit better for L/Os.
L/Os have priority in the shop, and while O/Os can go where ever we want, if there is something considered a safety item...such as brakes, tires, air leak, etc, the O/O will be at the back of the line if we want Stevens to handle it and we can't get dispatched until it is taken care.
So if they find a bad brake chamber, as an example, it may take me two or three days to get it repaired outside, and maybe a day less at Stevens, but it depends who's ahead of me.
As an O/O we generally get 0.01 more per mile, both loaded and unloaded.
We pay a bit more for accounting, if we use it at Stevens.
But all in all, they treat us (me) well, and I'm happy.
Loads, dispatching, etc is all the same.
    Our real advantage is twofold:
First, as Dujo says, if we don't like the game, we can pick up our marbles and go elsewhere to play.
I don't think that's really in the back of many of our minds, tho.
Second, based on depreciation and such, we will make a significantly more amount of money over a four year period.
If you figure we pay about the same payment as a L/O does for the first two years and then have a clear title, we make about $600 more per week the second two years based on no payment due.
Now there will be some increased maintenance costs, but our real money is made during that period of time where we don't make payments and we haven't hit the wall with mileage or age where Stevens requires us to either upgrade or take our truck elsewhere. (8 years or 1MM miles)

Well said! I am happy here and don't plan on leaving, I was just pointing out. I stopped grainy due to burnout, but it was also in the back of my mind to keep my mileage down too. Stevens has seemed to back off of the mileage at 1 mil though. I know a few over the 1.2 mil mark.

My long-cherished dream of becoming an Alliance lessee died two days ago. I have just returned home after being "permanently medically disqualified from driving a commercial vehicle," as the nurse practitioner wrote on my form.

I will not go into great details about it; just let me say it came from my giving the medical staff way too much information on a motorcycle accident that happened 37 years ago, from which there have been no recurring problems, and for which there are no longer any medical records to prove or refute anything.

Stevens has the right to have more stringent requirements (49 CFR 390.3) and they exercised that right in my case. Let me just advise all applicants who might read this never to lie or withhold pertinent information and never to give too much information, either. That is what I did and it hurt me.

My biggest problem is there never was a Plan B, so I have to develop one. I can tell you it's tough to give up #1...
