I would go with england cause theyre right there where you are . . you are not going to be home much yer first year but thats the case for all of us at the first . . .you can then, after you prove yourself, move to get more local gigs . . .(bakeries, sand haulers,cartage)
if you can take the crap that comes with OTR-you can take anything that might come in the future . . it gets way better as you go but keeping out of trouble is your main concern . . .
there are many ways to get in trouble out there and if you succeed and prevail in your first year, you have something to build on . .the first company you sign up with will be relatively similar to any other so don't feel like you picked the wrong one! Look at the positive-you get a CDL,training, and a new beginning. ..
they really are just a "springboard" for the better circumstances that are available as you get experience . . .
Keep your records clean!

 

ENGLAND ? Hundreds of negative posts have been posted about them . They are not "similar" to the other companies . Many , many trainees there started posting here and disappeared within a week or two . Several posted about trainers altering trainees logbooks . They are the company to most avoid .

 

Well, therein your own post lies my point . . ALL of the "starter companies" have these posts . . it's unavoidable- I am merely stating that England would be the most convenient for this driver . . .

Welcome to the forum.

Please remember that there's always two sides to every story and you're only getting half of it. It's human nature to post negative, you'll see plenty of it here. Best thing I think you can do is go to a truckstop and visit with some drivers. Buy 'em a cup of coffee and have a quick talk. Don't bother those that seem in a hurry, they won't be much help.
Do your own research and make a decision. Make the most of every situation!

 

Good luck. Pay attention. Its tough for alot or almost everyone at first just don't do like me and invest lots of money at first. Test yourself with what your comfortable with. Have some goals in mind that are realistic and go after them. Nothing worth while is easy. Trucking will teach you this lesson quicker than most fields is seems.

 

Choose Central anyday over CRE.

Look at the Central thread. There's like a million posts.

 

Maybe check out Gordon Trucking also. I believe they have a yard in SLC. Not sure though. Anyway, just a thought.
