Is there a difference between western and eastern snow?

I have a picture of the snowman and snowwoman we made in Tucson in March of 1976 that says you are wrong!.....unless that was a once-in-a-century snowfall......

 

Hey hey hey. Jersey snow falls white. It just turns black over time. Its like a big air filter. I always breath easier a day or so after we get a foot of the white stuff.

 

Snow is Upstate NY is much wetter during July and August and much heavier during January and Febuary

A Lake Effect Storm is always measured in FEET..

 

any snow we get in Vegas is usualy up the nose's of the hookers.... oh wait we do have Mt Charleston...and the occasional snow on the valley but it aint much

 

Got to learn about that the hard way when the Army decided my first duty station would be Fort Drum. Never saw so much snow in all my life.

 

Generally.

I was in Denver in October, sometime last decade or so, and it was a storm that started dry and fluffy and turned out to be wet, heavy and nasty.
It left 10 foot drifts up the side of my mobile home, and snowed me in for days.

Can't compare apples to oranges, wet to dry, or east to west.


Each storm you encounter will be different. It matters not what part of the country you are in.

You take it for what it is, and act accordingly.

 

You must not get up to Flagstaff very often. Try picking up at purina in a snow storm, the hostler had to salt the driveway before we could get in the parking lot. Sure is pretty though.

 

In New England we get those Nor'easters where the weather comes off the Atlantic ocean and just dumps major snow in minimum time.Such fun driving WWWWWeeeeeeeee!

 

When I was Vegas,I took my then girlfriend up to Mt Charleston.I stopped at every drop off to look at the scenery, you can see for miles..Seeing that she was scared to death of heights,I had a fun afternoon .Of course I paided for it for a long long long time
