It's that time of year. It happens every year at this time.

I'm keeping busy....... no idea about memphis area but the Chicago area seems to not see a "slow" season.

Try Blytheville, AR just up the road from there if Memphis has nothing as they have a lot of pipe and steel that usually pays good.

If you think think Memphis and Blytheville pay "good" rates on steel y'all are working too cheap.

The rates are barely adequate in reality.

Once you get over $3/mi gross you are in the "good" range.
$3.50/mi gross - great! Will deliver on time, intact and with a cheery smile!
    $2.50/mi gross - okay
$2.00/mi gross - cheap, look for other freight.
$1.50/mi gross - do not haul, no profit

I've done similar loads 4 loads to huntsville for 425.00 each
125 miles. The problem is time you can only do one or 1 1/2 a day. So the money is the same. But compared to nothing it's miles ahead.

Best layover money I ever got was in bellwood. 750.00 for one day from a
LS agent. The metal wasn't ready when I got there and they paid me to wait on it. Nothing close by to where I was, no parking except by shippers building
and people trolling all night long.
