They are not "FAQ", they are interpretations, there is a significant difference. Interpretations are a result of case law or other similar rulings so they do, in fact, carry the same weight as the regulations.

Typically, they are not logging OFF-DUTY, but rather, SLEEPER BERTH. It is unusual, although not impossible, to meet the definition of OFF-DUTY when at a shipper/receiver. However, being in the sleeper is generally both more common and easier to have accepted.

Any change of duty status must be recorded. Also, the regulations reference "flagging" for stops of less than 15 minutes, not less than half of that time.
A pee break, a load check, or any other such activity is a change of duty status from DRIVING, so it should be logged. There is no requirement to write in any description of the activity in the remarks. -
So then you end up with a line with the location on it and nothing else. Extra lines all over the place. I don't buy it. I just had a scalehouse go through a month's worth of my logs and nothing was said about the way I log except for not writing the bol number down. I never flag anything. If it's not a line change, it doesn't go on there. Never had a problem. I don't even flag when I go from driving to off duty and back to driving.
And all that off duty stuff with needing written permission is going away with the new rules that start Feb. 27th. Nobody ever enforced it anyway. -
Exactly. There are no requirements to write anything in the remarks section beyond location.
I don't care, I'm not trying to "sell" you anything, I simply posted the regulations. They are what they are.
Go back to the same scale and tell them that, I guarantee you will get a different response. Obviously they can't comment on what isn't shown. -
And that's all that really matters, now isn't it.
