sent you a message on the scrap company. may not be the dream job you are looking for but if it works he can put you to work asap.just be honest with him if you dont like it. let him know when you plan on leaving. may work out for you as an extra gig or something. arnold highers out to owner ops as well and its normaly with in 100 mi of marshall. this time of year they dont do much wont pick up for 2 months.
dunno what kinda shape you are in with money. you may just use the job to pay the bills then find what you are looking for and use them as an extra gig.you wont have to worry about them ripping you off though they are not in the buisness of doing that -
Please look at the date when this was written.
This man worked for us 6 weeks, he came to us with a truck he had just purchased to run sand with us. Bryan had never hauled sand for the oil field and barely knew how to drive the automatic he pruchased. He just knew the oil field was making more money than the car hauling he was doing.
So we gave him a trailer we had just bought, and no it wasn't air ride, but he knew that when he got it, and it did have a fresh inspection becasue we had just bought it, and we paid for the inspection for him. And we told him the insurance was optional, he decided he wanted it.
The oil field is always changing the rates on demerge, and if you have worked in the oil field, you already know nothing is set in concrete. and you never know how long or where you will be.
As far as our trucks being told to get off the rigs, well he was one of them becasue he had trouble backing the truck up into the storms, I believe there was one other truck that we had to let go because the truck pushers there on the job are very picky when it comes to trucker that can't back a truck. I don't understand how one bad apple is allowed to post such crap on the enternet and regular people think we are bad after reading it.
Why is it that when you are good to your employees, and owner operators, no one ever posts that, just the negative stuff.
I hired a driver last week, paid for his drig screen and then he calls me and said I saw this on the enternet, and I don't want to work for your company. So I am here to say call me if you want to know the real truth, dont
't believe every thing you read HERE!!!
I bent over backwards to help Bryan, he used this trailer he rented for 6 weeks, without paying for it up front, I waited till he had a big check to take the payments out, and then he gets upset, what was suppose to do let him continue using it for free. I was so ready to get rid of him, that I even bought back his hoses at the price he paid for them, and refunded his deposit, and prorated his trailer payments. All because he lives here local, and I didn't want him bad mouthing the company. But from now on everyone will be treated the same acording to their contract. I sure learned a big lesson here.

Nice response, another positive is you're stating you're learning from this. Reputation is a hard thing to gain back, then again it's hard to lose also. Most people take everything with a grain of salt so I wouldn't sweat it. He stated his piece, you stated yours. Drivers will come drivers will go, if a guy said he wasn't going to work for you because of what he read on the internet he was a short term solution anyways. If it was on here it would have been some guy at a truck stop talking him out of it. That is just the nature of some people, they only want to believe the worst and will take steps to not think for themselves. Research is fun, but even if it's all factual the interpretation may be off.

Coming to PA may have been a good financial move, if it was an option. Vertex hauls sand for Frac Tech(FTS International). I think they may own them. FTS is fracking like crazy up here in the tristate area; PA, OH, WV. O/O sand haulers make good money up here. And yes, they will boot you off location if you can't back up. They have a sand pusher who ground guides you to where he wants you. Just have to watch and do what he says.....that simple.
Drilling has slowed down some here, but not much. It has shifted from the dry gas areas of the Marcellus Shale to the wet gas ares of the Marcellus and Utica. My company is still fracking dry marcellus wells. There is still a few companies drilling in the dry gas areas. -
I know somebody that worked there that went off on a long haul was told to come pick up a trailer... was told the trailer was ready to go left out drove 7 hours they had to be there as soon as possible to get there to haul 200 loads for 20 trucks... got there the next morning at 5 Am at 7 Am went to get loaded and more ran out of the trailer than they could put in there... not overloaded it leaked so bad it looked like he worked for the county driving a sand truck in the middle of a blizzard...worked on the trailer for 10 hours to get it ready to try to hold the load. Called them to tell them that the trailer was leaking they sad to call the mechanic. After they said what do you want us to do about it from dispatch. Was told by dispatch that ya'll could sit there and not make any money. was told if you work on it will only get paid 8$ an hour. After he comes back after working all week from a forced dispatch brings truck and trailer to get fixed waits half a week to find out that his truck has been cleaned out and his truck was sent out with some one else in it.
and the other trailer that was sent out there was the same way and still had to pay the lease on it with the trailer not making no money but they were there with there hand out waiting on the money for the pump they put on the truck and every thing else the did to the truck but that was a total mess up on that part the pump are out of a used or wrecking yard it vibration so bad the tires on the truck would turn on the truck sitting still turn over 3/4 of the wheel this I from there mech shop and dispatch wont answer the phone if she thinks she got a new boyfriend in a new driver
the name of the company is SYLVESTER SERVICES IN TYLER TX THEY ARE NUMBER 1 IN THE GAME OF MAKING THEM MONEY NOT THERE DRIVERSLast edited by a moderator: May 13, 2013
Kay Lanham Thanks this. -
they are really that bad but they can afford it they trucks get kicked off jobs but they are making so much money off the lease truck from buying used blowers for 2000 dollars and selling them for 5500 not in stalled that a another 1500 over so if they don't work so be it they are still stand there with there hand out and the end of the week wanting there 12% for dispatch as long as you get one if the dispatch is not trying to get her a boyfriend or a date I guess and if you get worked on and they pay for it well let me say I hope they kissed you on the back of your neck so it want be so dry
even the driver that said his boss that sold them the blowers told his driver not to let them work on his truck at all because they over charge for ever thing and his truck is leased on with themKay Lanham Thanks this. -
Coming from the dispatcher that was employed with Sylvester Services... I would like to throw my two cents in for what it's worth. You are upset that you did not get your unemployment and if you are going to go about talking this way about every company you work for, you should tell the whole truth, not what you think the truth is. You know as well as I do that everything that you are claiming here is false and you know that because I have the documentation to prove everything you said differently. You know this because you tried it at your unemployment hearing that you lost because of the same documentation I provided then. As far as getting good loads because of dating the dispatcher, well, he is still making over 10K a week and I am not his dispatcher any longer and he is still working for the same company and we are still dating. Every driver that holds a CDL in their hands knows that it is how hard you work and your work ethics that get you loads. You cannot be rude and calling the dispatcher and sand coordinators and cussing them out and expect to get anywhere, there are drivers lined up right behind you that will take your loads happily, and as a dispatcher, we go to the next in line. I wish you nothing but the best as a driver and in your personal life, but it sounds like someone needs to face up to their mistakes and learn from them and go on about life. It never does anyone any good when you bash someone or something, especially when you are bashing falsely. Have a great day!

Mark Sylvester is one of the biggest piles in East Texas... Between him cheating employees and his meth habit, there's nothing else to say about the guy. I worked for him several years back and all I got was lies, terrible equipment and found out what a joke him and his 'then' wife are. You are lying if you try and defend this guy and are doing so 'falsely'. The truth is, you are probably one of his relatives and defend him because he provides you with dope. Now stick that in your little glass pipe and smoke it.
