Sir, if you're 18 then you're already 18 I think.?? Not sure where youre located but you can check with local DPS and see what is legal age for getting CDL. Texas is 18 but for intrastate only. Meaning you can only drive in the state that you're liscensed. Most trucking companies require a minimum age of 22 for insurance purposes. I think most of us here are partial to Stevens. Hope this helps.

    Dieselten77 and TRKRSHONEY Thank this.

Certainly hope not, they expect it in Corona by 11:30 Wednesday morning. Will definitely be interesting how late they think they can hold us up, after all we are driving a Stevens truck!!!

I just got a call from dispatch wanting me to go recover a load from a driver on safety shutdown ... cause he had been drinking.
I couldnt as my 14 is burnt.

:smt038 It's about time that they started catching up with some of those guys!! I've watched drivers walk out of the truck stop time after time with their 12 packs, go to the truck, then seen the empties in the trash barrel (or on the ground) the next day!!! Not to mention the ones that walk 'next door' to the truck stop to the local 'bar and grill.' They have the attitude that 'it's my 10hr break, so I'm off-duty and I can do what I want.'

Was really cool talking with Dujo as we rolled together on 40. Ran all night last night on repower, Tyson load with three drops. Told DM I wouldnt have enough hours to finish after running 560 miles through the night to make first AM delivery. Same old answer.....just run it and we will repower you after first drop. Well first drop took 5 hours and was outta hrs before I even got papers, called EVERYONE, no one helped me. Said there were no trucks in area....IN LA? So I just rolled my windows up, put my privacy blind up and ignored the knocks at my door for the next 5 hours as they were trying to get me to leave dock and get papers. When My 10 was up I played dumb.....sorry ran all night....sleep real hard. Lol. Anyway made it to second delivery, parked on the street in LA till last drop tom at 1600, guess I already have a lumper hired, crazy how it works around here, guys just drive around looking to lump, hey you can provide a valid reciept.....ill hire ya. Be Safe, Shifty.

Seguin. Does not care what the DLD is your load will be ready between 0400 to 0800 the day after. Yet we must deliver on time.

Stevens rule on drinks is much stricter than the DOT's rule. A person can legally have a drink during their 10. Just not in the last 4.

Shifty. Once we make the first delivery on time stevens has met their obligation and does not care if the additional drops are on time. And they rarely notify the receivers you are running late so we get to deal with the attitude and problems.

Got my load of frozen onions. Rolled out at 6pm and this morning person just can not drive at night. Going to bed in snowville a toasty 2 degrees.
