well what is your defenition of dealing with it? ... first off i was there two years i wasnt some new driver who panicked when things changed .... i spent a who;e week inside of a truck that would not idle at all, even when the temp reached 24 degrees, and also could not use the bunk heater because it would shut off within 30 minutes of running it due to the low voltage shutting it down...this went on for a solid week ....there was nothing wrong with my truck before they put the new software on it...i never idled my truck except when i was in 6 degree weather the week before that ... i used my bunk heater several times before that and it worked just fine.... the new software messed it up....i know for a fact i was not the only driver that had that issue....so after 7 days and nights of no sleep i decided it was time to make a decision on what to do. as driving with no sleep is not the safest thing in the world to do .....my fm tried to get me in another truck but he and i both was told it was taken already.... when i went to the terminal manager to see if there was any way at all to get another truck his response was to yell and scream at me at the top of his lungs ....at that point my decision was made to just go home and forget all about dealing with usx anymore....and after that when i posted my ordeal on the facebook page and all the drivers responded i then was contacted by the same terminal manager who apoligized over and over and then said he would have me in another truck by morning...i told him no thanks....i refuse to put up with another bad moment with usx, my perfect two year record...and i do mean perfect in everyway ....and thats how i get treated... after all that the people who run the facebook page deleted all my post and have blocked me so i can not post at all ,,,, the truth seems to hurt them ....and if i may add, there were even more thimngs i put up with before this even happened, this was the final straw....so when you make your remarks about what people can handle, you might want to try and find out what it is they are being given to handle.....

I'm glad you found another job, and had somewhere else to go. USX may not care, but at least you stood your ground. Our truck since the update, everything else off but the fridge, and the low voltage warning on my converter goes off after about 10 mins. Luckily we run teams and one of us can just stay up, but if it weren't for that we would have to suffer the heat from So Florida the other day, before it warmed up enough to idle, and even when we were in SC, it was in 60s, but was hot in the truck...I refuse to suffer because the company is to cheap to spend money on something that is a necessity. That and the battery is dead in 10 minutes, never a problem before the upgrade. The batteries would keep charged for 2 days with the fridge before the update.

Well, since you are so tough...you can leave your truck off when it's 24* outside and prove to HighwayMan how awesome you are. Personally I think he could care less either way, and your snubbing your nose like you are better isn't helping the conversation either way.

thanks, yeah my truck was fubar after the new software, and i was not running anything...i dont even own a inverter....didnt even have a tv in the truck this time....nothing but the bunk heater and it would be dead in no time...its funny because the terminal manager that gave me such a hard time came out to apoligize and such after he was told too ...anyway while he was talking to me the low voltage sounded off and that was just with the door open nothing running what so ever.....like i said they did offer me another truck but it was after i had already cleaned that one out and made up my mind to go and never look back...they should have done something alot sooner .... im glad im gone...its a very soothing feeling ....:biggrin_25519:

I'm not gonna be cold, or hot...If I were solo I would put up more of a fight. It's 14* here in La Salle IL now, and if the truck went dead we would freeze. I'm not a cold person, or hot either. I like things comfy, so I can sleep and be safe on my next trip. I would do the same thing in your position. Since we are making do with ours for now, I will wait to see what their decision is to correct this matter. If it is not satisfying, they have 200 new people coming thru the doors tomorrow and want miss me, and I'll find a company who cares just a little more, enough to not expect their drivers to suffer thru the night.

First off I would have had them route me to fix the truck. If the FM wouldn't do that I would have went over his head. I wouldn't have folded just because some terminal manager yelled at me either.

Trucks break down. Stuff happens. Yes it's annoying. Deal with it.

Look, I'm not one of the shiney happy people who is going to hold anyone's hand. I'll tell it like it is. I don't care if you like me or not.

I just so happen to be doing that at this very moment...LOL

I'm not snubbing my nose at anyone. Just putting in my two cents. Take it or leave it.
