When I ran open-deck, always coveralls. When it was hot out, I'd change into just a tee shirt and underwear, then on with the coveralls. Usually still ended up sweaty, but toweled off after loading, and a bit of spray deoderant, into fresh clothes and off I'd go. Usually headed for a shower as soon as I could.

I always picked up rolled up tarps and held them arms length downward, so they were about knee high. I also washed my tarps occassionally. I stored them in the vault behind the cab, so setting them up was easy. Yes, they get dirty, but given the choice to roll them on dirt VS pavement, I did pavement. Sometimes even on the empty trailer, which was clean. BTW, I'm kind of a clean freak, so I notice dirty things, like hand prints on doors, dirty salt/pepper shakers in restaurants, crumbs in crevices in the booths, brake dust on front wheels of 4 wheelers, etc. etc. etc. If using a public phone, I wipe the ear piece and mouth piece first.Mommas_money_maker Thanks this.

The only way to keep from getting dirty while tarping a load is to get someone else to tarp it for you.
Mommas_money_maker, The Challenger and FREEBRD Thank this. -
right g-man, something is going to get dirty, the coveralls if nothing else, lol

You can get a pair of thin Dickies coveralls from Walmart for a few bucks. You will stay cool enough and clean.
The Challenger and Mommas_money_maker Thank this. -
I just want to reaffirm how much I hate tarping....5 skidded coils and the wind is kicking about 30mph today. It was tons of fun let me tell ya!!! Looks like s*!t but I really could care less, as long as it stays dry

You need to go back and re-read the first sentence of his post.
I've never seen a load yet that paid enough to lug around 8' drop tarps... -
Quit looking on the broker boards and deal direct then

Lots of good paying freight out there, even when you have to throw tarps.blackw900 Thanks this. -
