Its 14° here @ rest area on Hwy 23 (Marion, OH) supposed to get down to 6° tonight. Snowing like crazy tonight. I have 100 miles left to get to delivery and only 2.25 hrs left on my 70. This is gonna be interesting. Supposed to snow again tomorrow and sleet/frz rain tomorrow nite.

Hey guys.... I've been reading this Thread for a long time. Sorry about my ignorance but when you guys talked about "I got a fresh 70" "I only have 2.25 left on my 34" what doesn't mean??? I am very very new to this, and I want to become a driver for Stevens, so I guess I need to learn a lot of this, and like I said sorry about my ignorance if I ask this stupid question. Also at what time you sleep??? Safety doesn't come first if you feel tired to drive?? The dispatch people they understand that or you really have a lot of pronblem with this "with dispatch" I am planning to go to Stevens by the end of February and I want to learn as much as possible before I go there. I would appreciated very much if some of you drivers can answer my questions, I wish all the best and be safe out there.... Keep them rolling....

I'm in Tulare at the loves. I swear on my pig faced mothers grave, if Celadon does not dim those high beams in my face (that have been on for 30 minutes) I'm getting my can of black Krylon headlight paint out and I'm dimming those ####### for him.

Its in reference to our Hours Of Service. We have an 11/14/70 hour rule. Can drive 11 hours a day, within a 14 consecutive hour clock not to exceed 70 hours in an 8 day period. Now, you can work unlimited hours on line 4 but cannot drive until you've had a 10 hour break, but if you go negative hours ie: 102 hours in a week, you'll have to do a reset but cannot begin a 34 hour reset until you've first sat off the hours you went over your 70. Generally if you get close to your 70 in combination of line 3 and 4 you can take a 34 hour reset and basically restart you 70 hour rule. Make sense? LOL!

LOL... I think :biggrin_25524: I got it...... And thanks for your fast response. And when you say take a 34 hour reset, what can you do in those hours??? Do laundry? Catch some sleep? Go out an have a nice meal? Stay in a hotel instead of sleeping in the cab of your truck? Go to the movies with you girlfriend? LOL.... What can you do??? Once again sorry about my ignorance but I want to learn as much as I can.... Another question! Are you a Company driver or a Lease operator? And how many miles you do in a week? Sorry to ask so many questions.... :biggrin_25517:
