I do my best to stay safe. Will definitely be very careful with these coils. They are very very top heavy. Never hauled um through the mountains before.

Aight. Well this trip just got more interesting... Figure out my routing to Oakland. Takes me straight over Donners. Heard a lot of stories about Donners, but never been over it. I just checked the weather and it should be beautiful through the pass. This should be an adventure.

Me too. The only snow up there was coming from the ski resort.

However, there have been two back to back storms since then.

Quick check says snow today, tonight, and tomorrow. CalTrans has chain restriction up as I write this.

I would of got permission to take the Southern Route I40 over Tehachipi on CA 58. It really doesn't add much in miles if the alternative means sitting on I80.

Well I checked the weather for Donners. Crappy today, but supposed to be nice the rest of the week. I wont make it there til tomorrow atleast. Hopefully everything will be cleared up before I finally make it. Weather channel says itll be up in the 40s so everything will begin melting. Ill keep checking the road conditions to see whats goin with the pass.

leaving out of Riverside area of Cali. rerouted to I40 because of the storms rolling through are turning to snow up there near I70. Chained plenty of trucks in the Army, don't need the experience. Might have to on I40 anyways.

Just checked the conditions again. Donners is clear, no chain restrictions, weather is better and supposed to improve. Im try to hit it during the day when the sun will be out. Im more concerned about dealing with Oakland than the pass at the moment. I royaly hate that city.

Not a tractor- trailer friendly city. I drove thru one of the burroughs maybe bronx or brooklyn, not sure and the streets are really tight, i was trying to find my way out of there and get back to the hiway cause i exited too early. I have driven long island before, its not too bad.
