They're gonna have to get used to the fact that some people are never gonna accept it.
I personally don't care what anyone does in their private life...But I don't need to hear about it and I don't need to be told that I have to accept it as normal if I find it personally offensive.

Somtimes learning very personal stuff about someone changes the way you relate to them whether you do it intentionally or not.
Some people get all upset about the change in the way you deal with them and start whining that you are somehow wrong for not accepting them as they have presented themselves.

Of course those people don't see that they are not accepting your ways anymore that you are accepting theirs because most people tend to believe that anyone who isn't like them is ###### up and needs to be educated in the error of their ways.

    Most people are idiots!

I dont see anybody on here named "Straighttrucker" or "Heterodriver"....Why do gay people think they need to advertise, and then whine when people dont agree with their views?

I think the fear is that.. even though the individual doesn't make an effort to express his/her sexual orientatin, it may become known anyway (eventually); and then the individual may have to put up with a lot of hostility or other negative behaviors.

And I assume a supposed "gay friendly" company makes it known in some fashion that such negative behaviors will not be condoned. This reassurance makes the individual less anxious in their work environment.

Without that reassurance, the individual has to make sure no one finds out and has to actively hide their orientation. And I suppose, since they don't think they should have to do that, they don't want to work in an environment where they'd have to.

I think you already knew this though.

Im just wondering, what exactly constitutes a gay friendly trucking company? Is it supposed to be listed in a company flier, kinda like pet friendly?I wonder if you should have to submit a deposit for gay trucking passengers?
This just opens up a whole nother can of worms.Maybe I dont wont a truck thats had pets in it.Maybe i dont wanna drive a truck thats had 2 sweaty mens makin man love to one another.Just one more thing to ponder when you enter a used truck :smt058:smt056:sign10:

Any polygamist-friendly companies out there? I want to take all my lady friends on the road with me. ;)

Honestly though (and this is based on my experience as a supervisor in another field), I think you should focus on your job and not your sexual-orientation while at work and the employer should do the same. It should not be an issue as long as you don't make it an issue. There are plenty of things for employers to get worked up about so I think you are too worried about this particular one.

Company's can discriminate for being gay and refuse to hire...they can also fire you for being gay....I have just started driving...I am with a trainer right now and I am gay...Read my post to see how it has been going for me...being gay has not been a problems and most people know when they see me.
