The problem with the Denny's in the flying j's is that the same people are working in it that worked in the nasty country market that used to be there. I actually used to love Denny's before they were in truckstops, now the quality of food and service just sucks arse!!

I understand portion control. I have been around and had partial interest in restaurants over the years.
My biggest complaint there is what they control. Potatos are cheap. Why two tablespoons of mashed or 9 frenchfries?
I saw this happen in the 70's under Ford and Carter when we had run away inflation and the government hadn't learned how to hide it. (like now). Eventually, everyone raised their prices and business continued.
If they need to raise prices, so be it. But don't give me microscopic portions and then try and placate my disappointment.
Especially with a standard menu item I ate two weeks earlier and was larger.wolfy7203 Thanks this. -
LOL @ 9 fries!!!!! That is so very true!!!

i can understand portion control also. in most places hubby and i go in to eat we only order one meal because the portions are so huge. i saw a study on a medical channel that showed the portions we eat now are more than 3 times the size of portions eaten 50 years ago. no wonder we are such an over weight nation!
but at this point no matter what dennys still sucks! -
The real reason is cause thats where most of these young drivers end up working once the mills get done woking them over.

I understand that denny's is not that great, portions are small, not that great of a value, and food is nothing to write home about. However, Denny's food just on a taste, and quality basis is a 1000 times better than an iron skillet, or whatever that is that TA's have.
Every time I eat at a TA, or petro if i manage to ignore the taste of the "food" and actually eat it, I get violently sick. I will stick to my fridge, and mom and pop truck stop resteraunts anyway, dennys is my last resort. -
just ate this weekend at the Dennys in Greenwood La. and I can say it was one of the better meals i have eaten

OK, on a serious note here, since Denny's are all franchised now, even though their menu is pretty much the same all over, the quality and means of preparation are not necessarily all the same. Shoot, even the quality of the cook's hangover can make a big difference.25(2)+2 Thanks this.
