1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I just think we should be paid better that's all. I make good money per mile, but once the wheels stop Rollin, that's it. I get paid for the easiest, most enjoyable part of the job. But the minute something happens my pay stops and my time is free. Traffic jam, breakdown, loading, unloading, waiting for them
To figure out my next load....I could go on and on. Why the heck is my time free??? I don't know why for so many years, so many company drivers have thought their time was free for someone to use as they will. You know it's funny, I hear a commercial all the time lately from one company in particular(that I would never work for) that says they understand that all moments away from home should be worth something financially or be profitable. Well at least they got it right in their commercials.

EXACTLY wolfy... You are reading my mind. Its like they expect it. I can't tell you how many times i have fumed over this. My wish is that all the otr drivers would go work in the oilfields and leave them high and dry. Their sense of entitlement disgust me.

I have had to forgo showers on a regular basis because its always one thing or another having to do with their company. So instead of showering everyday i may get one every other day. Sometime 3 days go by. They ruin my personal time on a regular basis. And to make matters worse i don't get paid for it. I could go on and on but i'd better stop.

No doubt drivers should be better respected for non-rolling time. I think the pay per mile model should go out the window too, leaving it only for owner operators. These breakdowns and traffic jams and loading delays should not be a driver's responsibility. But it wont change anytime soon.
