I always dislike hearing someone say "if you have nothing to hide, you don't have to worry about it". That is bs. It isn't about needing to hide something. It is about having the freedom, privacy, and true presumption of innocence that I don't have to worry about hiding anything. Taking everyone's privacy away, and making their lives transparent to deter crime is baloney, partly because that kills any presumption of innocence.

The company thing I will agree with you on. They have the right to put a GPS tracker on the truck, and you have the right to quit.

But the government? Hell no. Its not about having nothing to hide. Would you let the police search your house for no reason? Youve got nothing to hide, right?

We dont all believe in the police state that this country has been moving towards lately.

Heres something from a rarely used document that pertains to this topic:

    "

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

I knew I liked you wallbanger. Seems the country has gone crazy! Glad to see some support. And i do hope this ruling today goes along way to stop this intrusion into my business.

Your right let the companies do as they please....actually just what you and i are saying. Have the right to be free from this. I do believe the pendulum is starting to swing. Some of these brainwashed drones are waking up.

We just need to go back to more state control...that is to say state to state. I know Texas will still be all about private business being just that. Its easy for the uneducated to say you should just "go along" they know no different.....after all the T.V. said so!

This is pure history. When these policies move in a select few get rich and powerful and the country falls. Why? They put thier faith in people who are laughing at them, stealing from them and taking everything in the end. EVERYTHING!

I have done my best to articulate this in such a manner that the propaganda punks will be able to digest. This is a discussion that needs to ring through the country and I think is will soon.

Both of your flawed ideals are based on you have some right to use public roads. You simply do not. You are extended the privilege on a graduated basis. Until I hear a better method for producing, maintaining, and yes regulating the use of public roads I will continue to defend the laws pertaining to that use. Feel free to avoid them as I suggested before by not running your business on them.

All of you doomsayers with all of your irrelevant political quotes fail to explain how using an EOBR is any different than paper logs besides they make it harder to conceal a lie. That is fact. Everything they track is exactly what should be tracked by your RODS.

from my understanding they aren't looking at every truck with one. but companys that have log book issues after a audit or somethin like that. my company just went to them and its not that bad in my opinion.

We pay for the privledge and some people actually use common sense to make it through life not needing to be lead around by the hand like a baby. There's nothing wrong with the fact that you're ok with being treated that way it's just that's there's too many people out there like you who shirk responsibility and choose the easy way out. The rest of us end up suffering burdensome unneccessary government as a result of your laziness.

Tazz all you have to do is talk to people who have migrated from government controlled countries and they will tell you some laws being passed in the USA are becoming more and more like the laws of there home country that they left. For what ever reason you seem content that the government should be able to watch over any one at the cost of there freedom under the guise of public safety on public roads. You seem to think because we are truck drivers we must roll over and take what ever rules and laws are passed without question because we happen to operate upon pubic highways.

Have you ever noticed a dislike among the public to the TSA? The public has question the rules the TSA enforce since there beginning in 2002 and they are slowly growing out under there guise of "public safety" in every part of are lives.
With the Supreme Court ruling, whats to stop the NTSB from making a "safety recommendation" that all motorized vehicles either built or imported into the USA have a traceable GPS unit that can be monitored by the TSA at any given time? How would you feel about that?

Considering that the brain washing starts in elementary school and goes all the way through college, we can expect a whole lot more of this BS.

The government will not, should not and CAN NOT "take care" of us.

It is not about taking care of us.

Tell me whom should set the regulations for use of public roads.

You want them out of healthcare? All with you.
Drug use(besides when operating a vehicle or in public place). None of their business.
In your schools? Nope Dept. Of Ed needs to go along with most of health and human services. Now some like CDC are justified in a limited capacity.
FCC? Nope complete crap lose it.
TSA? I would rather see corporate security for each individual airline. People would scream mercenaries were violating their rights then. Don't like the regulations stay off airplanes.
Patriot act(The biggest misnomer sine the Social Security Act). Opposed.
Social Security? Well we've covered that.
Consumer Affairs? It is up to the consumers to handle their affairs.
FDA. Take whatever drug you wish government sanction does not make them safe. Eat whatever you feel is safe.

In short yes there are many instances where the government has and is overstepping their bounds.I have seen nor heard any viable system for building, maintaining, and regulating roads. If we pool our monies to build them(yes we could be far more efficient but another discussion), and pool it to maintain them, logic dictates that the pool( us and by representative government) regulates whom gets use and the scipe of that use.

Now people are not always going to agree with all the rules, and feel free to make attempts at changing them, but this is the only logical way to provide the infrastructure we need.

Feel free to build your own roads and set your own rules for it's use. I will support you with the same belief that the owner makes the rules.
