I can give you some honest advice, when i started out my uncle always told me to
listen to the guys with the most experience. Thats what I did for the first few years.
I asked questions? and did alot of listening to the pro's,and you can tell who knows what their doing and who doesnt. If thats the path you want o/o, then when you are in truck stop and its lunch or dinner, sit at the horse shoe and listen to the men talk?
and find yourself a o/o and ask questions? Theirs ALOT TO LEARN? It will not happen over night? I started 4 years ago, and im still learning. Best of luck to you, and be safe.

That is one reason we haul Government freight! What the load pays is printed on the bills, even the fuel surcharge is noted so there isn't any way our company can screw us as long as we are paying attention, which we do.

As far as being a company driver goes......If you are running coast to coast then mileage is probably better but if you are running regional then percentage is probably better because most shorter runs pay better then longer ones.
