Frontier Transportation (Osterkamp)Day 1

Well went in and met with safety and recruiting yesterday. Really nice people. Did road test trip to clinic for drug and DOT that went fine typical in and out turn your head and cough. However first time I ever had back X-ray for DOT physical. Talked with a few drivers milling around terminal. They were all very nice more than happy to talk with me answer any questions I had. Just waiting for background to be finished. No worries there. Will update when I have more.

 

they are out of Pomona/Chino with some terminals in Nor-Cal and one in Oregon

 

well as usual with truck driving its feast or famine. Co I applied with got background back. welcome to come aboard. Got call today from another one I applied to. Have interview tomorrow with them. Like the 2 I have been cleared to come aboard,if tomorrow makes 3 going to be a real tough decision. Never been in this position before. comments and or advice would be appreciated!

 

nope the paper thingy they give you to take to clinic specifically had the box checked back X-ray unless you can see breathing probs with back x-ray then I stand corrected.

Yea not alot of truckers in this neck of the woods moved here from small southwest GA town 4 yrs ago. I've road tested background cleared and pee and coughed for Frontier out of Chino and RPM out of Santa Fe Springs interviewed with Salson up in Ontario for Pier 1 acct and AICO up in Pico Rivera they are furniture company. I am going to go to work for RPM in their truckload division. Really impressed with RPM when I met with transportation mgr. great pay, small family atmosphere,nice equip. and the runs I'll be doing I like. Start orientation on Monday then ride with one of their local drivers for couple days then get cut loose on my own.
