You know what's really funny, you really have to watch out for skunks at the old "Dick Simon" yard. (now Central Ref.) A few drivers and some of their dogs were sprayed. Could you imagine getting hit by a skunk and having jump in your truck and drive for the next month!

I remember several places like that, Jays in Chicago, and Seyferts in Fort Wayne were two places I've been to.

nice thing about those dumpers if you lost something in your truck you could always find it in the back of the cab...I use to use dumpers when I hauled chips and boiler fuel most were trailer dumps only but the 1 at stone container was a whole truck dump like in the picture...you leave a can of mountain dew in the cup holder you got a mess afterwards..( dont want to talk about spit cups either)

Christineann thank you for sharing those pics! Brings back lots of good memories.

My Simon truck is in my Avetar. Great running truck.

I noticed you were in a T-600. You ever hear the story about that?

I guess there was some warranty issue that KW didn't want to cover. The old man was still running the day to day operations then and he said if they didn't cover the warranty then he was cancelling his order and buying Freightliners.

When I went to pick up my truck, what do you know? About 300 BRAND NEW Freightliners, with the plastic still on the seats.

I guess the old man wasn't messing around.

Thanks again for the pics. Simon gave me my start and I will always remember that.
